So Harry has something planned for Ron? The way Hermione is involved seems to indicate it's something nice; yet the way the team responds seems to indicate a potential for disaster. Well, I guess I better read on and find out.

Ooooh, tantalizing hints galore! What on earth is it that they're planning for "Romeo Bravo"? I guess RB is Ronald Bilius, and I'm curious as to why his team-mates react the way they do. Harry's unheard mumbling is just sweet, while he would like to plunge ahead in his relationship with Ginny, he respects the Hand and that energy too much to want to go against the prophecy. And Ginny knows she shouldn't jump Harry, but remembers not why she knows. I guess she will, eventually.

You know, when this is all finished, you could spend a little time making it non-HP, building your own universe in which the Helm exists, and publish it. This is one of the few unfinished stories I remember. Most just give me small flashbacks, making me think "yeah, that was a cool story, I wonder if it's updated by now... if I only could remember the author!" No chance for that to happen here. So take your time, the result is well worth the wait, but I would of course love a new chapter before christmas...

Thanks for sharing.
Cheers!

Wow, that March 29th review was way out of line - you have laid out the timing of our favorite couple getting to be our favorite couple quite clearly, maybe Remus could be sent over to educate Anon?

As I have said in the past, take your time, your story is what matters, not how fast it is written. Besides, if we want it quicker we should be paying more eh?

Oh, it wasn't that bad. It wasn't outwardly abusive, and I can understand his(?) frustration; I'm suffering from more than a little of that myself as I work to get this chapter finished. It's nearly done -- say, 95% -- unless suddenly decides to explore a new direction for her reaction to learning... well, that would be telling.

Still, thanks for the support; it is much appreciated. And the chapter is coming.

You know, it's quite a pity that the chapter on Ron's birthday didn't come out on or before Ron's birthday...hurry it up, please?

That was never going to happen, not least because the next chapter is not the one about Ron's birthday!

Sorry, but I cannot write in real time. RL and my Muse do not give me that luxury -- especially the latter. Luckily, the next chapter is almost done -- I suppose I should update the progress counter -- so bear with me.

As always, a wonderful addition to this story. I, as others, wonder just what Harrry/Ginny can do to make Ron happy/tourked, must be something to do with his birthday eh? And Hermione's in on it? - Love the way you are taking the romance part slow yet stillo showing the full frustration this is having on Harry - There is no way I could not have held off kissing miss Ginny down by the lake but then again, I'm not wearing the helm (only explainiation I can think of)

Keep to your pace of updates, no ruishing towards the end as this story will stand alone lone after you have finished as one of the truely great works of H/G goodness.

Except you didn't change the formatting in the earlier chapters. Or the 'Net didn't like the change and didn't let it stick. Whatever. In either case, the first several chapters as the site has them right now have the Hunter talking in capslocks.

Change of subject: I take it that Operation Romeo Bravo / Operation R18 (different names, same thing?) have to do with the approaching March 1st? I still can't work out what about that would infuriate Ron, though.

Really dumb question: How come the Hunter's speech is like THIS in the early chapters, THIS in the middle ones (which you forgot in a couple paragraphs of ch. 10, by the way), and this from ch. 15 on? I like the bold best, myself, but the transitions are a bit jarring. (Oh, and in ch. 12, the sequence with Orion switches from being italics w/ thoughts in not-italic to being normal w/ thoughts in italic. Again, a bit jarring.)

Not so dumb... The answer, and the various layout problems you mention, stem from changes to the PS site code and what it can accept in terms of fonts, etc. When I first started writing this, back in the first incarnation of PS, I had the Hunter talking in small capitals -- LIKE THIS -- which I pinched from Terry Pratchett since I wanted the voice to sound rather like that of Death. I also used multiple fonts (letters in a different font from the main text, newspaper articles in yet another -- all chosen from the allowed list of typefaces), indents for various reasons (letters, etc.) and the infamous red background and gold type for the banner in chapter 7, all of which can be handled very easily by a word processor (specifically Word), and PS was set up (then) to use Word files, so there was no reason not to use these little tricks, which I thought added to the story.

When the site was revamped (around chapter 14), it could no longer handle that sort of thing, or not without a lot of messing around on the part of the people who upload stories -- rather more than they were prepared to do (and I should add that I understand and do not begrudge them their decision) -- and so I had to change things; e.g., the small capitals became full-sized ones in the new story files, so I changed the Hunter's speech to bold, and went back and altered it in all the earlier chapters to be consistent.

Now we get to the mysterious bit: even after eliminating stuff like small caps, indents, etc., the site has been... shall we say, idiosyncratic in terms of layout and fonts. And no-one really knows why, or so Minnie, Allie and Tim would have me believe, and I have no reason to doubt them. The chapters are as I want them when they are sent to my beta, both before and after her scrutiny, and this includes all the chapters (the early ones have been re-posted, some more than once); but in several cases, when they are posted to the site, somehow, something has gone wrong, be it fonts, layout or on-and-off italics. Chapter 21 is the worst that way -- but then, it does have 127 changes from "regular" type to italic and back again...  I may have to ask if I can re-post all the existing chapters to try to get this right, but I've been holding off on that to get the story finished.

Pleasant little chapter, although a bit slow, as you say.  One of those things which will sit nicely as connecting filler when one re-reads the whole story in one sitting.

I'm very curious to find out what operation RB is all about?!  His birthday?

I *think* the e-mail that notified me about this new chapter alluded to a struggle that Harry would have, or was having, with the Orion power, as well as with Voldemort?  I don't recall noting anything along those lines, except for Harry's mutter in this very chapter ... maybe I've just forgotten earlier examples.  I'm a bad serial reader, it's hard to remember things when it's one-chapter-at-a-time over a year or more.  Anyway, curious about that as well.  Something else to look for the day I can sit back and read this through as an entire story in one session.

This seems awfully short for having to wait two months to get it...

...now what could possibly please Ron so much, but simultaneously tick him off? The only thing I can think of is Harry and Ginny getting together, but apparently that isn't going to happen yet.

Is Harry planning to explain to anyone but Ginny or Dumbledore ever?

Yahoo!  You're back!  Lovely, lovely...  A satisfying chapter as it promises surprises and more action in the next few...  H/G is as sweet and nice as always, I love the build-up you're giving their relationship.  A most wonderful way to end a joyous day.

Thanks!
