What Would Fleur Do? A Christmas Story
Wow! What a fabulous story! I don't, as a rule, like Ron/Hermione-centric stories. And I didn't have a lot of hopes for this when I realized it was such a story--but the by-line made me give it a chance. And I'm glad I did--I loved to see Hermione learning, and from Ron, of all people!
Thanks, it was perfect!

I'm glad you liked it. I don't write a lot of R/Hr, but I do love the pairing. Next to H/G Ron is my favorite character. Thanks for resurrecting (and reviewing) this old story!

Very cute slice of married life. I like Hermione learning from Fleur, who learned from Marguerite. I also appreciated Joanne and Kathleen, the Rowling twins.

Thanks!

I wrote this last year at Christmas for all the busy moms out there. It's a crazy time of year - perfect for migranes, unfortunately.

I've just started reading through some of your writing, and I like the humor that you find in almost everything. But I really liked this short story - it's very "real" for a completely fictional place! (and I am not a writer, so I generally don't do technical critique)

It's so nice to know this "old" stuff is being read! Unlike laundry and cleaning the house, a story stays done! LOL - I don't think the magical world has how to be the mom all figured out - that's probably why if felt real. Thanks for reading!

that's really cute. i like it alot, plotline characterization, etc. little much of the fleur-accent, but no other negatives!

Yes, it's hard to know how far to go with Fleur's accent and still keep her in character. Thanks for reading!

I really enjoy all of your stories, and this one in particular gave me that "warm and fuzzy" feeling.  I love the endings of all your stories, things always seem complete and just _right_.

This was just a fun thing I did for my live journal.  It was fun to imagine the characters older and a bit wiser.  I do like Fleur and Hermione together! LOL  Thanks for reading!

Love it, as always. Hermione is SO 'Hermione' and Ron is SO 'Ron'.

And Fleur saves the day!

Oh good.  I'm glad R/Hr were in character. It's hard to imagine exactly what they would be like twelve years older - so I'm glad they were recognizable.  Thanks for reading!

Wonderful as always! I enjoyed the bit of irony at the end. Fluffy and cute, with the tiniest of morals- just how I like it!!!

St. M.;

This is a cute story with Ron & Hermione. The thing I like best about it is the end, though - WWFD is Hermione & Ginny's question for someone they grudgingly admire (grudgingly I said! :-)) and it turns out, Fleur has a question too. It just goes to show that no matter how much you think someone has it together, they might need help, too!! :-) [I used to have a little sign - I finally got it all together...but I forgot where I put it!]

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!

Oh, yes.  Part of this is the truce Ginny and Hermione declared at the end of HBP!  They will never be best buddies - but Fleur has her place in the Weasley clan!

LOL I like your sign - because it is so true.

Um - do you hear a distant echo? I keep hearing Charlie, Charlie, Charlie.  Fleur would suggest writing a shameless fluff piece for her brother-in-law.  Hmmm.  I might have to listen to Fleur.

Very nice, I'll have to remind myself of that every now and then.  "What would Katie do?"  It's a wonderful piece all in all, and I can definitley see Hermione doing something like that.

I have always loved your treatment of Ron.  If wisdom is the ability to cope successfully, I think Ron will have it in spades.  Your stories seem to show Ron on the verge of some adult quality -- wisdom, understanding, self-confidence -- and make us believe that he'll get there just fine.

"They won't remember bread, but they'll remember that this was the first Christmas you let them help."  This line of Ron's took me back to the days -- long ago, now -- when our girls were small.  My wife was the wise one, who made sure that they were included in the preparations, with things that they could both enjoy and learn to do well.  Thanks for making those days live again.

Happy Christmas to you and yours.

I'm glad you liked Ron and Hermione (and that they were recognizable after all these years)  I 've always liked Ron's sense of humor and his loyalty.  Both of these qualities wear well over the years, I think.

It's so true about letting the kids help - and really - Christmas is for them - not impressing all the adults!

Thanks for reading.  It's always nice to "hear" from you in a review!

Next time I feel my shoulders tensing and stress creep up on me, I know what I'll do.  I'll just sit down to think "What would Mary do?"

Thanks a lot, I loved it!  And the lesson is invaluable.

Big hugs,
Berte

Oh the shoulder tension. That creeps up on you in the cold weather especially!  Fleur would definitely advise more rest and more laughter.  Hope you have a good holiday.  :)

Very funny :). I liked this story, again a short and sweet one :). I can't wait for the long story you promised. Merry Christmas!

Thanks for reading.  I think Fleur has a lot of comic potential.  The long story is already written - I just want to put some finishing touches on it.  With the Christmas crazies, it's taking me longer than I thought.
