Roger and Lisa, A Romance
My little romantic heart fluttered when Roger look at her after his conclusion. He did know she was there and it mattered to him. Lovely.

There's ninja guy.

Harry always thought that Roger was some kind of smooth operator, but if you look at all the clues in canon, he was just as silly in high school as everyone else. Poor kid - he couldn't keep a girlfriend or win at Quidditch.

As you already know, I found the beginning of this chapter very inspiring.
“Your friend, Padma – she’s certainly part of the scary sisterhood.”
I have to ask -- what did Padma do to Richard?

I love the continued use of cleaning charms. And the whole trial and so glad Ajax made the grade -- he's the bane of George's existence, don't you know.

Lisa's concern about not saying the things that need to be said and that Roger understands her is so wonderful.

Now, if you'll excuse me -- you just sent me an e-mail that must be attended!

LOL - I imagined that Padma stopped by to see Roger before the ceremony and Richard was with him. I could see her announcing that she was always going to look out for Lisa, that sort of thing. Not a threat or an insult, just a general statement. Of course Amy and Annette kind of took the wind out of her sails because they rushed right over to Roger to tell him about their new dresses and to show him how their My Little Porlocks were dressed for the ceremony.

BTW, Melinda Bobbin is a canon character (a member of the Slug Club) so your time with her will not be OOC.

Sweet, tender moments between the two. I'm glad Lisa didn't get in trouble! And of course she would make breakfast and iron his shirt as a sign of confidence--I think that's a Ravenclaw thing to do. Good work!

Yes, Lisa is a "doer" so I thought those little chores made sense. Thanks for reading!

Finally I turned my computer on after a week and two chapters are here. I missed my bus and thereby my classes today, but I really think it was worth it
These chapters gave me a lot to think about, actually. Especially the lines about how it's impossible to kill love, and that sometimes little gestures are more important than words. There is so much more I'd like to tell about, but have no time now (if I want to be in time for the last lecture, that is). I'll try better after next chapter

And btw, Roger and cellulite and Wooly Mammoth - so sweet

Oh, no - I hate that feeling of missing the bus - at least there was another one for you to take.

Thanks for reading these two chapters (although if I hadn't been so long-winded then perhaps you would have made your bus )

I'm glad I made you think - that always makes me feel good.

You know, there's an old theater saying: good marriages make for bad plays.

You're proving it wrong. :-)

I loved the sequence between Lisa and Richard--even if I did want to whack him on the head.

And I loved Lisa's anxiety around Roger's case. It was just right. And it didn't stop them from being... happily married. :-)

I'm glad I've managed to break the marriage law. LOL. I love marriage stories - probably because I've been married for so long and I'm constantly amazed at how relationships change. "Happily Ever After" is not a static state. Thanks for reading!

hahah. That wolly mammoth-cavewoman tangent got me going, and it's a relative question! Well done, as usual!!!

LOL - you wonder what those cavewomen thought about as they chewed hides, etc . . . Thanks for reading!

Roger and Lisa, A Romance
*sigh*

I feel warm and fuzzy inside.

There was a murmur of comfortable laughter all around. Roger inclined his head toward the judges to indicate he was finished and then he looked straight at Lisa. His expression never changed, but there was a warm glint in his eyes – just for her. He had known she was there the entire time.

I have no words for how wonderful and fulfilling this is. I am all at once anxiously awaiting the ending and dreading it. As much as I want the culmination of their relationship (not to mention a peek at the baby) I don't want this to be over.

Warm fuzzies are great on a cold day. Yes - the fic. is winding down, but not as quickly as I would like. I think I can wrap it up in sixteen chapters with an epilogue. I'm still working on the ending. So you will have a bit more to enjoy (I hope) Thanks for reading!

Aww, she watched and he did it! Only two months before the baby is due, and hopefully Richard and Gabriella can sought themselves out.

Yes - all will work out in the end - this is a romance after all. That two months will go quickly in storyland by the way.

I love this story! And I only just found out it was you writing it! I read some of your stories on Suga Quill. Not sure if I was using this name or Terentia. Anyway, I'm so glad I found your latest. I love it. I love the characters, the world, the plot, everything! I have a really bad feeling about those papers Lisa signed about leasing those herbs to whatshisname. Surely they have something to do with making the horcruxes and that woman's baby being "cured"? (sorry- terrible memory for names!) Anyway, yeah. Brilliant. Will be following this!

Of course I remember you! I'm glad you took a chance on some minor character fluff. I 've really enjoyed writing this story. There are about three or four more chapters to go before you find out about all those plot threads. Thanks for reading!

Oh Mary, I have so loved all of your stories, but this is becoming a real delight. (Ginny's Great-Aunt Martha is still my favorite character). Lisa has learned so much. Her Sister Love conversation with Richard was so telling. "If this is love,” she repeated, “then you can’t have killed it.  You can’t kill love.” Good luck on your quest, Richard!
Her husband already knows how he feels about their relationship. The "warm glint in his eyes" is so dear. "Roger inclined his head toward the judges to indicate he was finished and then he looked straight at Lisa.  His expression never changed, but there was a warm glint in his eyes – just for her.  He had known she was there the entire time." Emphasized by the final sentence- “I finally won the match, Lisa.  And you were there.”
I look forward to more plot complications and their resolution.
Sunday 26th February 2006 09:46Roger and Lisa, A Romance (Author Response)
You are anticipating the final part of the story - one more chapter of working on their relationship and then the final chapters. I'm glad you liked Roger's glint - he knows love when he sees it!

Aww and Aunt Martha - I'm glad you remembered her. I loved it when JKR gave the Weasleys a Great-Aunt Muriel - complete with a goblin-made tiara. Sounds like something Martha would have lying around the house.

Thanks for reading!

Brilliant again. I especially like the whole Richard and Gabby side story. You give even your minor characters depth. And it's interesting, although true to character that you have Lisa as the one who shows how she feels, but forgets to say it. My husband is the Lisa at our house. He'll show me, but not use the words so often. So sometimes I miss the message. I'm glad Roger wasn't as thick as I can be.

So, when are you going to come play in the forums at PS too?

Sunday 26th February 2006 09:41Roger and Lisa, A Romance (Author Response)
I've had in my mind that Lisa is Virgo and that is one of their traits - being "doers." I'm not a Virgo, but I am the one who doesn't say the words in our relationship. LOL. You would think the fluffmaster would be cooing sweet words all the time!

My characters get to be interviewed in April - so I'm excited about that. I'm just not used to the forums here I guess. I can be a bit shy.

Aww...the sweetest chapter! I loved the interaction between Lisa and Richard. And the law of siser love. LOL.

I am sooo happy for Roger and Lisa. Its good to know both of them are quietly but surely are letting go of their old demons.

“I never said good luck when you were Captain,” she blurted, not understanding why this was so important.

He smiled. “I finally won the match, Lisa. And you were there.”

How sweet was that?!?!? Can I borrow Roger away from Lisa for a bit?

I ended up with such a crush on Roger (and Richard) while I was writing this - so of course, you can borrow him.

I'm glad you liked the sister love thing - I think the world needs both kinds. Thanks for reading!

“Should I be expecting the sublime or the beautiful?”
"Both," she answereed.

This was a very satisfying chapter to read. Roger and Lisa are clearly more and more comfortable with their marriage. Their communication -- both verbal and otherwise -- is much more assured. However, I most enjoyed the discussion between Richard and Lisa over lunch. That both so clearly trust the other -- one to offer honest advice, the other to accept it -- shows how far Lisa's integration into the Davies family has progressed. Thanks so much for letting us see and hear these wonderful characters.

I enjoyed giving Lisa a relationship with Richard. They're both people who have been hurt by life and can therefore appreciate the other. And like you said about trust - that is something neither one of them would take for granted either.

The last line made me sniffle.

So sweet how Lisa halped Richard, she is truly a part of the family now. I wanted to yell, "Go get her!"

I love this story more and more with each chapter. Can't wait for the baby! Do you have a poll running on names? Rowena or Roger Jr.?
Maybe not... ok, put me down for ten sickles on ROBERT(A). Or maybe did you give a clue with Lisa's stars? Hummmm, Venus Davies? It could happen!

Looking forward to much, much more!

This story is my exploration of the Eros and Psyche myth. At the end of that myth Ovid tells us that Eros and Psyche had a child and they named him "Pleasure." LOL. That's not it.

I'm glad you liked Richard and Lisa's talk - I think I wrote it about three times. Sigh. Conversations take forever to get right! Thanks for reading!

Roger and Lisa, A Romance
This was a satisfying reading on many levels. I like the way you show Lisa and Roger gradually more comfortable in their marriage, while not quite completely sure of each other. Lisa's thoughts when she thinks she angered Richard and is concerned about Roger's reaction were a great, subtle touch to show that all is still not quite well in her slightly neurotic brain. It was the kind of slightly "off" reaction I was talking about in my previous review, and I'm glad to see it here.

Also, Lisa's talk with Richard sounds just about right. She comes across a bit tentative (since she doesn't yet know Richard well enough to truly butt in), but also concerned and determined as a family member should be. I'm wondering though - I think you mentioned somewhere the story has 14 episodes - but it seems to me there are still enough matters to be resolved that would require more than one more episode. Or did I get it wrong, and there are more episodes?

Are you considering writing a story on Romilda and Cormac, or were they definitely there just for comic relief? I've been toying with an idea about writing their story, but I'm not sure I'll have the time or energy. However, I'd like to know how you'd feel about this before I even try doing an outline.
Sunday 26th February 2006 09:27Roger and Lisa, A Romance (Author Response)
I'm glad you noticed that Lisa didn't come off as Dear Abby there - Richard is in the inner circle of her heart now - like Padma. That's how she (eventually) rises above her habitual reserve to speak her mind.

I did think this story would be 14 chapters - but as I started posting this I realized the final three chapters were too glib, too easy, and too fluffy for what I had set out to do with this story. So I have been busily rewriting - tearing apart - and putting back together the ending. I'm still not completely finished - but I know what it looks like - 16 chapters and an epilogue.

Romilda and Cormac was a lark - and I'd love to see you play around with them! Go for it!

Thanks for reading!

Roger grew up in a loving household, so he does know what those gestures mean. And of course, he knows Lisa quite well by now.

Even though Roger never played against McClaggen - I thought he should win against one of the Gryffindor Keepers.

that was wonderful! i loved how you carried quiddich throughout. who knew lisa was so good at romantic advice?

and i do like the little reference to the planet room. =)

I'm so glad to hear I have another reader and one who is generous enough to take time to leave a review! I "totally" hear you about the work crunch - I'm just glad you enjoyed the story thus far - and that you recognized the law of "sisterhood." LOL. Thanks for reading!
