I cried when Hermione made her debut. And over all the ensuing emotions.

Frightening thought, letting the Malfoys into your head...

Thanks for the great story! I am so addicted, lol. Your protrayal of Hermione was right on the target. I'm going through hair loss and it is upsetting regardless of age. Keep up the good work.

The little bit about childhood memories is really good. Congratulations on the way you made Harry react differently depending on the memory. It makes it real

“And you keep yours on as well, by the way,” Fred added, waggling his eyebrows at Ginny.

I love that line. Briliiant.
I am a big Weasley fan - Ron being my favorite, followed by the twins. I think you've done a great job writing them as characters. JKR would be proud. Not sure about the Malfoy thing just yet. Can't wait to see how that turns out.

You are a superb writer. How do you get such cool ideas? Draco's teaching was nicely done by you . It was a nice idea of Harry to use Dumbledore's pensieve ! This chapter rocks!!!

I loved seeing Harry uncomfortable and acting like a normal teenage boy with the magazines they found at Dung's. It was very appropriate that the twins were the ones to show them to him.

Ginny really is more of the heart of the group that keeps them all supported and on track whether they know it or not. Her giving up her hair was very selfless.

Harry showed real smarts for removing the memories before his lessons with Malfoy and I'm glad the Order can't get to them. I'm worried he mentioned precautions in front of Remus. I hope no one searches his trunk looking for clues. I also hope he's taken precautions over his trunk.

But I do believe the Weasleys will step up for him now if someone brings it up or Moody will.

Yes, Malfoy is definitely a pain in the ..., and the way you write him things are not likely to get better. I'm surprised that the Order think this could work, personally, I doubt it.

is your malfoy gunna turn? i get that he's on the side of good at the mo, but he's still very much malfoy... (hee, i've never had the chance to use this icon before!) and for the record, i don't want a PoE ending for him...

LOVED the scene at dungs where they found the magazines- cracked me up!

and can i just say, playing on the heart strings much?! that scene in the kitchen gave me a lump in my throat right along with harry!

*contented sigh* can't wait for the next chapter!

Heh, I used that icon for the first time recently, too. Kind of fun, isn't it? I'm glad you don't want the PoE ending - it's more fun to try something different.

Glad you liked the scene at Dung's. I had a lot of fun with that, and so far I only got one negative feedback about it, so I'm taking that one as a success, lol. Thanks much!

Wonderful chapter, will Harry remain vigilant? I could see Malfoy for some reason being able to help Harry with the Horocruxes, I don't know why, but I do. Keep up the excellent work and update soon!

Thanks! Malfoy is an interesting enigma for book 7, isn't he? There are still so many possibilities for how to handle him. Ultimately, I still think the Slytherin will do what's best for HIM, no matter what that may be.

Cool chapter. The way that Ginny and Fluer were able to help Hermione was very sweet. I also liked Harry's chat with Mr. Weasley, it seems a bit overdue, but still something that Harry needs. I wasn't sure what to think about Remus in this chapter though. On one hand he was obviously protective of Harry, but he also seems to have the Order's agenda in mind. I'm also a bit concerned with Malfoy. I would think that after the past year of desperation, learning of his inability to murder, and now being exiled and relying on his enemy, that he might have lost a bit of his swagger. He seems over confident for someone who's on the ropes. Maybe it's just me though. Anyway, great job writing this. Your plot expands a bit with each chapter, but you also keep the main focus in the readers mind.
Sunday 18th June 2006 06:03The Seventh Horcrux (Author Response)
Thanks! You're right on both counts with Remus. He does want to protect Harry - but he also believes the Order knows best. One thing that stood out to me very much about Lupin in HBP is that he's a follower, not a leader. He never even considered questioning DDs authority. He now believes that Snape interfered with the Occlumency the first time, and before that DD thought it best, so he wants Harry to learn to block Voldemort, and believes this is his best shot.

I still have absolutely no idea why Draco and Narcissa are being allowed to stay with the Order. Aside from setting up a few plot points for you, is there any reason why the Order just doesn't use Veritaserum on both of them, find out everything they need to, and then either dispose of them or turn them into the ministry? Between them, several members of the Order ended up either maimed or dead. Yet they are both allowed to snipe away at anyone in the house whenever they want. Whatever.

I was also wondering about Legilimency lessons. Doesn't the casting of it require a wand? If so, is it really the case that the Order is allowing Draco freaking Malfoy to cast a spell at Harry from point-blank range? Furthermore, does that mean that in addition to allowing the Malfoy's refuge in the Order's safe house, both are allowed to keep their wands? I can't imagine this being the case, and you probably mentioned it earlier, but I just can't remember. I'd appreciate some clarification.
Sunday 18th June 2006 05:58The Seventh Horcrux (Author Response)
Well, the idea to have Draco and Narcissa take sanctuary with the Order came from HBP. DD offered Draco protection for him and his entire family, telling them they could be hidden from VOldemort and his followers. The Order are the good guys, so I don't think they'd "dispose" of them, or even turn them over to the Ministry. The Ministry hasn't proved very reliable in the past.

That was so sweet of Ginny to give her hair to Hermione, it brought tears to my eyes when i realised what she'd done. And Fleur - you've gotta love Fleur don't you? You write her so nicely, she always makes me laugh.

The pensive ... i'd forgotten about that! *laughs* As if Harry would agree to let Malfoy into his head without some form of backup ... we of little faith! The occlumency scene was good, and i liked Malfoy's reactions to the memories a lot - and the fact that Harry could at least push him out when it got to Ginny. And you're right - how could Malfoy understand about the childhood memories? The migraines were also a great touch - I'd never thought of Harry getting migraines, which he could be prone to because of his glasses, and not just because of his scar.

Once again, that was an excellent read. Thanks so much!

Thanks! I'm glad you like Fleur. She was the one who kind of stood out to me in this chapter, so I'm thrilled when anyone else points her out, lol. I'm glad the Occlumency ended up working for you after all. More to come with Malfoy next chapter...

Wow!!! That's pretty much what I feel about this fanfiction. WOW!!! I have to be honest, you've written a couple of long fics that I never got around to reading, even though they were recommended. Sorry! However, I did read your one shots, which are fantastic.

I wasn't going to read any of the post HBP fanfictions, but something told me to read this one, and I'm so glad I'm doing so. You are a fantastic writer, and I can see each one of JK's characters in your writing. You match them so well.

I absolutely love the Harry and Ginny scenes. They are too cute, and a match made in heaven.

Job well done. Keep the chapters coming. I look forward to them, and been spreading them around to my co-workers at my job.
Keep up the good work. Absolutely can't wait until the next chapter.

Dee

p.s. I've been talking about that Harry and Dragon scene everyday since I read it a few days ago. That was off the chain.

Some fantastic surprises in this chapter!

Draco and Narcissa are so In Canon! Draco is really an annoying git!

As for Ginny's gesture towards Hermione: beautiful and unexpected!

And the conversation between Arthur and Harry: I can almost see the entire thing!

Keep on with your great work!

Thanks! Yeah, Harry and Remus have some issues to deal with. I can't help but think that Remus's tendency to follow along rather than question authority would butt heads with Harry's nature, on occasion.

Nice chapter. I loved how Ginny and Fleur helped Hermione "get past" her hair troubles. It would be very hard to lose one's hair, but I thought she handled it well. She didn't wallow too long. The family's response to it was also sweet.

Way to go Harry for ensuring Malfoy and the Order didn't get any Horcrux memories. That was smart of him and I didn't think of that solution.

It was another good read. I'll gladly look forward to reading more.

I am not sure what they are thinking, letting Malferret into Harry's head. It seems to be a bad idea.

Here's an idea for you: "Harry and Malferret gather for the next Legilimens session, and Malferret bores into Harry's mind. He gains a glimpse of a Horcrux hunting session, and Harry is so upset that he throws Malferret not only out of his mind, but right out the window as well - the 3rd story up window.

Oooh that Malfoy really ticks me off! I hope Harry kicks his butt - in your story and in canon!

You had me in tears with Ginny cutting her hair to help Hermione, Bill's comments and then Mr. Weasley's. Very touching moments! And all of them dancing - so sweet.

Love your character chapters--another great one!

Last week I got upset at Harry agreeing to occlumency lessons with Draco. Then as I started reading this chapter I remembered that Dumbledore had bequethed his pensive to Harry. Fortunately, he remembered it too (lol)!

Harry's reaction to legilimancy/occlumency is very interesting. In OotP I figured that the headaches, sickness, and lack of progress were due to Snape. But as you've continued those problems with a different teacher it makes me wonder if they're really due to the bit of Voldemort riding around in Harry's head....

Thanks! Yes, Harry's reaction to the Occlumency. It couldn't have been Snape now, could it? Good catch.

Oh lovely lovely lovely! I'm so addicted to this. You've got the characters spot on and the dialogue is fantastic. I always loved the occlumency scenes in the books because it's interesting to think of snape or someone seeing Harry's memories - so I really loved this. and I'm surprised that Malfoy didn't make comments about Harry's childhood - shows he might not be so bad after all.

Just ignore the review below - I forgot to turn off the netnanny!

I have a deep need to keep Harry safe and I think that this is what makes me the idea of anyone messing around with his head frightening. After all, he grew up alone and dealt with everything alone, why should people find out that stuff now? Especially if they use if to their advantage and Harry's disadvantage. I don't believe that this Malfoy is a traitor, but he probably won't be able to stop himself from having a dig at Harry.
Great use of the pensieve. I enjoyed lots in this chapter, especially Ginny's resolve to help Hermione, the bonding between the three girls, Arthur and Harry's talk and oh Melinda...just everything!

Another amazing chapter! I loved that scene where Ginny gave her hair to Hermione. It's such a selfless act of friendship from her. It's wonderful, really!

And using the pensieve was a pretty clever idea. Although I know where you got that from: Snape in Order of the Phoenix, right?

*Sigh* I can't wait for the part where Harry visits Azkaban.

Yeah, the pensieve idea came from Snape. Harry had to have learned something there, and he's the one in control on this one...or so he thinks.

Absolutely brilliant chapter!! I liked this from beginning to end, and I really loved the interaction between the Weasleys. And the whole pensieve thing was pue genius!! And I can't decide if I like Malfoy or not... though I wouldn't mind seing him and Harry come to an understanding... Maybe if the ferret sees how much suffering Harry's gone through as a child he won't be as cruel. Brilliant work!!

I loved this chapter very much becuase of character development. Hermione 's reaction to her hair problem was a brave act on your part, since so many people forget that bossy intelligent bookworms are girls too and can be very sensitive about their looks too. It made her human and the way Ginny, harry, Ron and fleur acted was very well handled. Keep going. It's a beautiful story, besides being thrilling, etc...

Narcissa did exactly what she was asked to do, she just wasn't nice about it. I tend to think both she and Draco are in it for themselves, and will do what it takes to save themselves - no more, no less. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

One of the first things I do when I see that you have updated is check the word count of the chapter. I have to thank you for the wonderfully full chapters that you give us. I always feel "short changed" when an author's word count is less than 5000 words, (Horribly greedy, aren't I?) and I never feel that way with your stories.

I liked how you made Hermione more conscious of her appearance in this chapter. I think loosing one's hair would be traumatic to many people, and I enjoyed that you allowed Hermione to react in this matter. I loved how the women of Grimmauld Place banded together to help her out. And Ginny's "Lock of Love" gesture was so in character of what I think her personality is like. I loved (Do you notice how many times I use that phrase in your reviews?) how Ginny's eyes immediately searched out Harry's when she came in the room. I loved Harry's initial realistic reaction and his later reaction when he realized why she had cut her hair.

I am also enjoying their more demonstrative displays of affection in this story. After reading HBP, I feel JKR opened up the door for Harry and Ginny to display their love in more ways. As you said before, Harry and Ginny are very passionate people. I think you are doing a fantastic job conveying this behavior. I truly believe that the more powerful Harry's love is for Ginny, the more powerful he will be against Voldemort. And powerful love isn't always displayed "meekly."

On a similar note, the reactions of the young men to Dung's "literary" collection was a hoot! Typical! Glad you are showing more of those teenage moments with Harry.

It was nice to see that Fred and George had such insight to their brother Bill. I really enjoy those two characters and what they can bring to a story.

The whole Occlumency scene with the Malfoys was surprising. I didn't think Mrs. Malfoy was going to be so helpful. Shows how much Snape didn't teach Harry during his 5th year. I have always wondered why Harry reacts so horribly to Occlumency. I loved the use of the Pensieve. Way to go, Harry!

As always, can't wait for the next chapter. Love those e-mail updates.

Aww, thanks! My word count has certainly skyrocked lately - I guess I've gotten very chatty with this stuff.

I'm glad you liked Hermione. I think anyone would have some self-consciousness over something like that - and Hermione has proved she does care about her hair. She might not want to spend the time every day to straigten it, but she has kept it long. I'm particularly glad you liked the moment at Dung's. I enjoyed that scene, too, and tend to think the behaviour is typical. Thanks!

Ah! I had wondered if he would use the Pensieve!

This is building wonderfully--I'm glad that Harry and Ginny are reconciled with the Weasleys, and I found your exploration of Bill's motivations quite interesting.

Draco, of course... Well, I'm definitely in the camp of those who loathe. ;-)

I find it interesting that he and his mother didn't give Harry much more instruction than Snape ever did. It will be interesting to see if there is any possibility of Harry actually learning something. Though it is interesting that when Harry is pushed, he is capable of pushing back.

Why did the memory of Dudley's bullying affect him so? Hmmm... Why would it have triggered the scar? Could Voldemort be aware that someone's trying to probe Harry?

Actually--something occurs to me. If someone uses Legilimency on Harry... could they gain access to Voldemort's mind as well?

Hmmmmmmmmm...
