Oh, poor Harry (must find a way to distinguish the Harry from OC), but glad his mum made it right ; maybe a foreshadowing that she'll be able to make it right with the Harry.
Interesting bit with Harry and the wards.

Well Hermione has certainly made progress with Harry. So far though they have just removed Harry's memories and stored them in jars. Now the real work will start when they examine and analize the memories so that Harry can come to terms with them. I look forward to more of this story. thanks for writing. p

I really like your Ginny in this story. She stuck with Harry for the past seven years since anyone saw him. She loves him and she has a special magical power that allows her to feel him. Her feelings deep down are so intense and yet she is controlling them. She listened to Hermione and is willing to bide her time to see Harry. I imagine that when she first sees Harry that will be when her anger first releases .... like with a big slap or something, but then she will settle down quickly.

Thanks,

I'm glad your liking Ginny. The toll the last nine years have had on her comes out more as the story goes on.

Thanks for R&R

OK, I like her a bit better this chapter. Bottling things up doesn't do anyone any good. I guess her bitterness and anger are to be expected...

Oh well good, needs your sympathy. There are plenty of people to dislike in this story, has a hard enough time.

Oh fabulous! I just found this story and I'm enjoying it so much. I feel really bad for Ginny right now, and I'm afraid hat she's going to do something spontanious and very stupid. We love Ginmy but well she is Ginny. I can't wait for the next update so do it soon! Great Job!

Well even if you can't wait your still going to have to. I hope to have another chapter up soon, but that's out of my control.

I'm worried about Ginny too, she seems kinda edgy. I mean she attacked Ron! You'll just have to keep an eye on her.

Thanks for your kind words, I appreciate the ecouragement.

wow! excellent job! I loved it. I love the way its all put together. It doesn't sound cheesy or like a 5th grader wrote it. I really enjoyed it very much. I hope to read more soon. Keep working on it and don't let anyone put you down. Your doing an excellent job. I can't wait for the next chapter.

Excellent, my ability to only write at a third grade level has been properly hidden. I can assure you it's due mostly to some very hard work, by some really nice people. I hope you read more soon as well, and I'll try to keep my chin up. Thanks for the review, and oh of course for actually reading the story.

interesting, i like the story idea there, it does seem like the thing harry might do seeing as he is always blaming himself for things he cant control, i like how you were able to set that up... and the characters manerisims seem pretty spot on well done, hope you can get the next chapter out soon

Poor Harry and his blame spirals. You'd think some little read headed minx would figure out a way to fix that. Too bad he doesnt know anybody like that....

Thanks for your review, the next chapter should be out in the next week or so. So check back!

I really like this story, is very different from the fics I've read and very mature and well written. Also I enjoy the psychological theme because I study psychology. It really make sense to me that after defeating Voldemort, Harry would have some problems to adjust and move on, the gravity of this problems will depend of how goes the final battle, so the scenario in this fic is possible.
Also I loved the interaction between Hermione and her kids, I think it is adorable.
I only find Ginny a little annoying, I understand that she desperately wants to see Harry again but if the memories Harry has of her are of anger most of the time and if she is going to treat him like this the next time she sees him, I understand why Hermione don't want them together yet, because Ginny can, with that attitude, ruin all the progress Harry could achieve with this therapy.
Hope you update soon, cant wait to know what is in those memories.

UH oh! I don’t have a background in psychology, so you’re liable to find many things you take issue with in this story, but alas it is fiction. Don’t judge Ginny to harshly, she has big role to play in this story. This is quite a long story and we are only just getting started, so the first several chapters are spent trying to give you a small history to catch you up to with who the characters are now. I’m glad you’re enjoying it, I think the glimpses into the characters family lives while not common, are important to helping people identify with them. I wouldn’t want you thinking Hermione was a bad mother, because she doesn’t care about what’s going on with her children. She’s the best mom she knows how to be, but feels a very deep obligation to Harry, as well as a huge amount of guilt for not being there when Harry needed her most. Thanks for the review, I hope you keep reading, people who review are my favorite!

Yeah. I think I'd call that "partial catharsis," (to the extent that such a term makes sense, which is fairly dubious). Excellent story!

Thanks for taking the time to review every chapter, that's nice of you. Good to know I didnt start slipping.

So..is that your partial catharsis, Ginny's partial catharsis or Harry's partial catharsis?

Ginny is still a storm of emotions, and she has some suprises up her sleeve for everyone.

Wow. So emotionally charged, so deeply painful and yet so hopeful. Marvelous. You explain this therapy process very well, and it's easy to see it actually happening within the world. There's something about the banter between Harry and Hermione that seems a little out of character for me... I can't explain it, Harry's just a little too bubbly and not somber enough. Even if he can't remember the battle, his mood after book 6 certainly wasn't as upbeat as he's acting now. And I'd expect him to be more stressed about this whole thing than he is. That's my only problem though. I am loving the plot and everything, and the fact that Hermione's boys are Harry and James. Good work! Please update soon, I loved having five chapters to read at one go!

Glad you liked it; I completely understand the issues you’re describing. My feeling is that Harry really does have a lot of trust that Hermione has his best interests in mind. While I’m sure Harry is still mourning his losses, and he will have to grieve again, as he learns the fates of his other friends who did not survive, I think the relief Harry feels at having the 2 ton gorilla that was Voldemort off his back does lighten his spirits some. You have to remember throughout book six Harry was agonized that he himself would have to face down Voldemort. That’s a lot of pressure to be under, and it’s been relieved in this case, with some major caveats. Plus I think that Hermione’s joy at finally being reunited with her long lost best friend would rub off on him a little. A surly Harry under the shadow of Voldemort might have taken it the wrong way, but this Harry is finally free of the shadow----at least for now.

We will update again as soon as we can. A lot of work goes into each chapter, and while I’m well ahead of all of you, my Beta’s have given you everything they had ready, and went through a great deal of trouble this weekend to provide it. They deserve a few minutes to wipe the sweat from their brow, before they lunge into the breach once more.

Thanks for reading and for the review!

Harry Potter and the Toll of Destiny
Every once in a while a story is posted that just begs to be read and I'm delighted to say that this is one of them. I was riveted to my chair from the very beginning and didn't stop reading until the very last word of this chapter had passed under my eyes. Thank you for posting so many chapters at once since a hurting/agonized Harry goes right to soft spot and I just want to kiss him and make it all better! However, I think it's best in this case to leave it to the experts--Hermione and Ron at this point.

I love what you've done with Hermione and Ron. Her treatment of Harry and the fact that she based her career on helping him and others like him is, in my opinion, a statement of just how much their friendship means to Hermione. As for Ron, I loved it in Chapter 4 when Ginny turned him into a salamander. I really like his maturity and the fact that he seems torn to bits every time he has to approach his sister with evasive answers. I've always known he'd make a terrific father and the small glimpses of his family life and his relationship with his sons just proves this theory right.

Like Ginny, I'm anticipating her meeting with him with both dread and excitement. The fact that she's the one who knew Harry wasn't dead in the first place made me choke up, especially since she hasn't given up on him in all this time. I feel her mental anguish, too, and hope that her seeing him will help her heal as well.

I await more chapters with bated breath!

Wow, what a lovely review! Those kinds of reviews make all the work over the last several months much more worth it. I like Hermione in the roll as well, and I really believe she would put in the work to find some way to help Harry. As we all know, a determined Hermione is an unstoppable force.

I’m glad you like it, and thanks for letting me know. Look for more updates soon; I really didn’t want to leave people with the shock of chapter 1, with no explanation, as to why Ron had just attacked his best friend. But, everyone is working hard on getting out the next few chapters, and they definitely throw some twists into things, as we get to know what Harry’s spent the last few several years doing.

Thanks for reading!
