I suppose that he is now going to run her ragged around the lake, have her paint fences up and down, wax on, wax off, etc.
My question, just 'cause I'm like that, would be to ask what happened and if she was going to report it. Also, she should have a recorder on her at all times that can be reset by her if nothing of interest has happened. He already knows that she has suffered.

Nice scene with Edgar and Umbridge

I guess a really good question is "When will Edgar see Umbridge as the walking meal she is?" ... to which, indigestion must be considered.

A lot going on. Neville is deffinitely on Harry's side. Ginny is coming around. Ron is being stubborn. Hermione wants to learn so much. Harry is really being drawn to Ginny. She keeps him interested and guessing. And now there is a Vampire visiting! That was a great entrance. I love Edgar. He is so cool. Of course after 671 years you would be bound to learn something. I like the fact that Ginny was not affected by Edgar. That is great that Harry is having the twins file charges against Snape instead of himself. That is very slytherin of Harry! Cyril is different. Let's see what Harry learns from his enigmatic mentor! Now Harry has to teach Ginny to defend herself. Let[s see how that goes. p

Lots of things to see and witness, and sometimes it's funny, sometimes sad, and sometimes downright painful. But regardless of how it all goes, you know that Harry is going to be there, suffering through it all. Edgar is quite the beast, you might say, and who is and isn't affected is an interesting question. Why isn't Ginny affected? And that other person, too? Were there more that Harry just missed? Or were some acting? What's real? What's illusion? Defense of the self is hard when you don't know who or what or why. How will that tangle resolve?

So, Ginny is immune to "Vampiric Enthrallment"? She has a wickedly powerful magical core, and she wants to know how to open a 50-gallon drum of whup-@ss on some people.
Hmm... Charles, Third Earl of Minutiae, is pondering this...

The Third Earl ought to consider things from One perspective, in which the whoop-@ss is simply self-flagellation... or is it? As you know now, magical cores come in all shapes and sizes, in a carefully controlled curve of probability, and ... Just who does she want to open up that drum on, anyway?

I know I haven't commented on this yet, for which I am eternally sorry, but I've been so enthralled with this story it always slips my mind. But I'm doing it now. Brilliant work. You're quite the master of angst and intregue, and your knowlage of weaponry and martial arts is convincing. The action sequences are as engaging as the rest of the story, leaving me in a nearly violent state when I have to wait for the next update! (This is meant as a compliment) Keep up the fantastic work!

Thanks for the kind words, although I'm a little dubious of the angst label which is massively abused in fanficdom. (Check the dictionary if you're unsure of what it means.) It's also always a challenge to understand those labels -- is Angst a label for the characters themselves, or for what the reader experiences when moving through the story? Two very different ideas, really. Regardless, I'm glad you're enjoying the story, and having fun with it all. It's going to be a really fun ride... assuming it hasn't been one already.

Brilliant!! I really love this Harry. He is so 'in control' of himself, yet not. He is not just a sheep following along with whatever everyone else has planned for him. In all aspects he is a typical teenage boy completely confident in his abilities and who he is on the outside, and a complete mess underlying. You have created a fantastically intriguing story, your characters have depth and feeling. The other characters you have created are great. I am desperately scanning each one of them to see if the little seed you planted regarding the possibility of one of them being a spy (ch 12) is true or just a red herring. The interaction between Harry and Molly is great, makes me wonder what is in store when they finally meet, also I can't wait to see what you have in store for the Harry/Ron friendship, I get a feeling that it will be just as important in your story as in the "real" stories. I can't wait till the next chapter. Thank you for a truly entertaining fic.

Control is a facade at times, and much like sanity, any feeling of being in control is tantamount to discovering just how much control you have -- the painful way. I'm glad you find the characters interesting a more than just the typical portrayals. It's my major complaint against canon, that in a child's series, the deep interactions and complex shades of reality are bypassed in favor of simpler plots and easier pretenses. In reality, none of that would really work. The Spy, as you've been wondering, is a fun question or point of debate. The primary questions that come to my mind are: (1) How many, zero being a valid number? (2) If there are any, whom do they work for, and whom do they report to, as those two are not necessarily the same set..? and (3) Why? Glad you're enjoying it.
