I finally had a chance to read this right through, Richard.
Great job so far. I am anxious to see what happens next, so that's a good sign!
Keep up the good work and I'll keep reading!

Well thank you very much! Knowing that you want to read more is a great motivator.

BTW, my name isn't Richard. It's George.

Don't worry about it though, I can't remember names to save my life.

Don't worry about the length - substance matters much more than page count - and ending it with Lily's appearance is a great cliffy. Go get her Lily!

Thanks Melinda. You truly have been an inspiration.

Yeah, just based on Snape's memory in OotP, I've always thought Lily was the last person you'd want to cross!

Ah, the Durseleys in Purgatory. What a pleasant thought. With James, Sirius and Lily to welcome them! I really like the way this is shaping up. Thanks for writing. p

Thank you for reading and taking the time to review! Yes, it is pleasant to think that in the afterlife, somebody will stick up for Harry.

Boy do you know how to make a humble hack feel good!

Seriously, I'm glad you're enjoying it. It has been a lot of fun to write. I just finished Part VII last night. Now I've just got to get busy and finish Part VIII, which is the conclusion.

LOVIN` IT!!!
Its amazing!

The afterlife, the purgatory.
You have a wonderful sense of imagination, and thanks to that you have created a fiction that I will enjoy for the chapters to come.

Wow! Glad you like it. I think you'll enjoy the upcoming chapters even more, as they get longer and we get to delve inot the characters' psyches a bit more.

And, of course, we get to see Vernon & Co. get what's coming to them.

I'm loving this story, I cant wait for more. I know that how is the afterlife is not the point of this story, but the punishment the Dursleys get for their actions towards Harry, but I just find fascinating reading other people perspective of how the afterlife could be, etc.
Good chapter, this time I was prepare for it to be short.
Hope you update soon

Thanks! I'll confess that figuring out a way to portray the afterlife was one of the things I was most nervous about. I don't always do well writing about abstract things, and what's more abstract than the afterlife? Fortunately, Melinda chose a sort of minimalist landscape, and I was able to build on that pretty easily. There are some other things coming up that I hope will prove interesting for all of you.

Thanks so much for reading and reviewing. There should be another update next Thursday.

Hmm, a story where the Dursley's get what's coming to them, and have to face all of Harry's loved ones with no rules to hold them back. Sounds like a marvelous idea for a story that I just can't wait to read.

Eagerly awaiting the next chapter,
Trey

Even if the little quirks the writers find out afterwards, we, the readers, still love what we find. Your story is sure something worth waiting for. I can't even began to imagine what Lily will do to her sister and her family!

Wow! You've made my daY!

I think you'll find Lily's reactions to the Dursleys very satisfying. I certainly enjoyed writing those upcoming scenes.

i liked it... Lily, worse than what James or sirius could be...so true..

Vernon seemed to be a bit OC to me, but that may just be me. The same applies for Dudley, going along with CotD at least, as he wasnt super whingy in that.

Nevertheless, i liked, and cant wait for the next installment. Hope to see an update soon

Thanks for the feedback.

It wasn't my intent to Vernon out of character, especially as he's portrayed in CotD, but to show the shock he goes through. Trust me, he'll be back to his blustering self soon enough!

As for Dudley, keep an on him in this fic. And remember, he is - in effect - a child with no real understanding of the magical world, or for that matter, anything spiritual.

Again, thanks for reading and reviewing!

this is so much fun, great job. although i'd like the chapters to be a bit longer
Friday 4th May 2007 07:22Through the Looking Glass (Author Response)
Thanks for the compliment. It's a fun story to write. As for the chapter length - time is the biggest problem. The installments will get longer as the story unfolds.

Perhaps some day I'll have time to write a novel-length fic. Though given my limited skills, I'm not sure what I'd fill it with! Also, you might not live to see it, as I tend to re-write obsessively!
