Curse Breakers: The Maya
Ok. Harry and Ginny are afraid to be together because of Voldemort. That I understand. They need to find a way to end the curse on them both and to find the way to send Voldemort's soul on to the afterlife before they can have a life free of the threat of Voldemort. The pain they both must have been in all this time. Now they have all these obstacles they have to overcome to find what they have been looking for. Harry in his own search and Ginny pusuing her occupation while still communicating with Harry through letters in an attempt to help him find what he has been looking for. Now on top of everything else Satterfield is trying to get involved in their search through this cursed site near Merida. Of course he is looking for treasure. He has not idea of the evil they are all fighting to remove from the world. Thanks so much for writing. I look forward to the next chapter. p

That is a fairly apt summation of the chapter. However, i will ask one question, what makes you think that Satterfield would change his plans if he did knowthe intent behind Ginny and Harry's little jaunt?

thanks for the review

Very interesting! I had a feeling Satterfield would have a bigger part to play. This should be fun!

I've spent too much effort developing him to just let him go to the side. Besides, you always need some conflict with an outside antagonist. It helps push plot along nicely.

and yes, it will be fun.

I'm about half way done with the next chapter. Right now it is just about finding time to write. I'm getting a couple hundred words a day, which is really slow, but I'm hoping my schedule will clear up later this week.

Glad you are enjoying the story.

Interesting chapter, quite revealing as to some aspects of the relationship between Harry and Ginny. - And I was afraid we would find S. there.

I can't just get rid of an antagonist right off the bat. It'd be like killing Draco during the Sorting First Year. And yes, you've seen some of the issues w/ H/G. But you are all just at the beginning of the road.

thanks,

This is really original, good characters, original plot, realistic background story writing. Please keep this story going.

If necessary, get a publisher and I will buy the book!

Thanks a lot. I've tried my hardest to step outside of the standard fanfiction format for HP.

The story is still going forward. It is outlined through the next 10 chapters and rough outlined all the way to the end. I've just been busy and the current chapter is fighting me because I haven't found the bet way to move through the plot points, but the Requiem of the Phoenix project jolted those cobwebs free and I'm itching to get back to CB now.

As for publishing, well, I don't want a lawsuit, but in a few years you'll see some original work from me. Also, check out my yahoo group. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/in_my_own_words/ for some of my other original stories and fanfiction.

thanks a lot,

I almost missed this update. I'm so glad the story's still coming along. I loved the tension between Ginny and Harry and I'm very much looking forward to seeing them deal with all the stuff that's stopping them being together. I love when Action/Adventure has good old fashioned fluff at its heart!

I like to have tension between my characters on a regular basis. I'm not one to create angst with people dating other people and misunderstandings and interrupted romantic moments, but I have no problem with keeping characters separate because it creates tension as they try and find a way to be together.

Anyway, glad you are enjoying the story. Look for the next chapter in early September

A good background chapter. I can't wait for the adventure inside the temple and I really can't wait to see how Ginny puts Satterfield in his place this time. Keep on writing

A few chapters to go before they are in the temple, but only like two. My plate is clearing up so I should be back to writing on CB pretty soon.

thanks,

You've given us a great deal of information in this chapter. One would never realize that you have any writers block because it flows so well. Even a cliffie-
Even from a distance she recognized the golden brown hair and aristocratic way he held his shoulders. She swore. Lord Alfred Satterfield was at Dzibilchaltun.

Great story that deserves more recognition. Usually, I'm complaining in my reviews when there is little action. However, this chapter was a good read without any and I reached the end of the chapter wanting more.

Hope you keep this fic going even with Book 7 out.

As I said, before I accidentally deleted my response, I firmly believe that everything that happens in a story is action. Something is always moving the plots or the characters forward in time. It would seem ridiculous to me that a story would wallow around and go nowhere for a chapter or two.

I try very hard to include important information and prune out the secondary parts that really have nothing to do with the story beyond being mentioned as an aside. Part of that is knowing where I am going and the full shape of the story to come. It allows me to have scenes early on that relate strongly to later scenes and set up the information the characters will need.

Anyway thanks for the review and for reading.

Also, forgot to mention, but this story has been plotted out to about 33 total chapters. I very much plan to finish it. I will probably split it into two stories of about 17 chapters each, as there is a good breakpoint after chapter 17.

Wow....*astonished* I can't believe the thought that goes into your chapters. The amount of information about the Mayan culture put into your explanations......Great job, as always.

The biggest issue with the Mayan research is that it is very contradictory at times, and i need to make sure what I am using works with the plot. It is the biggest hold up on Chapter 6. I have been stuck with a lot of minor issues about mythology and how to impart that information without sounding like I'm writing a dissertation on Mayan culture and mythology.

Thanks for the review,

Jonathan
