I know, I know, Lavender isn't my favorite person either. But I do think that living through everything they had to might have helped her a bit. I like to think that even Lavender can change for the better.

You know, I don't think he ever reads the rest of the letter. At least not in the chapters I have written. Don't worry though, this is Phoenixsong, they won't let me have a Ron and Lavender story here. Anyway, that's just yucky.

I agree with you about Lavender. I thought about inventing a character for Ron to be "involved with" for a while but I just didn't want to. Lavender serves a vital role for Ron for the moment and I do think that the war (and a run-in with Greyback) can change a person drastically.

I've just sent the next chapter to my beta so it shouldn't be long.
For the first draft of this story he was marrying Hannah, but I don't know there's just something about Susan. That and it was already sent to my beta and ready to update when I found out. I just couldn't bring myself to change it...again.

Honestly, I'm not exactly sure how to reply to that. I toyed with taking out the, shall we say, less than Hermioneish scene. But then I thought about it. Hermione has been traipsing through the desert and other various locations for years now. She's ready for a change. Symbolically I think she needed to just be a woman for a couple of hours.
I would love to hear more feedback from you. This is the first thing I have written since I was in high school and I'm really trying to improve. I know it's asking a lot but would you be willing to email me and let me know where I'm going wrong. i would really appreciate it.

Of course he did. Let's just say that things are not all they seem to be. He has a bit of inside information on the subject. I love Neville. I loved seeing his transition in DH, it's just what I expected to happen and I loved it.

Ah, the beauty of fan fiction. You get to have the characters do anything you want them to do. I know JKR has said that Neville marries Hannah but there's just something more exotic about Susan. As far as Ron and Lavender...you've already seen the beginning of the end of that. Their ship has sailed but I needed Ron to be with someone for a while and she fit the bill. Their relationship is explained a bit better in the next chapter.
