... It's hard to respond to one word reviews. I can't think of anything clever to say*.

*All previous responses were Caleb Nova Brand witticisms, which differ from real witticisms. Mileage may vary.

You manage to keep the canon characters SO in character. That's the worst part about fanfiction, is that people always skew and twist the original characters to be how they want them to be, therefore making it somewhat sickening for the fan to read. ^_^' This is also where Scott really starts to shine... "What are you supposed to do when you want to masturbate?" hilarious. I always thought that the only thing that could make the HP series better is a few sentences like that one.

Still keeping up with the mystery, and the suspense with wanting to know who and what Scott is and why he's doing what he's doing. And really wanting to meet his sister, too. Impatience is one of my weaknesses.

Fanfiction is naturally subjective. Original fiction is the domain of the writer, and then it is filtered through the biases of the reader. But fanfiction is doubly skewed, filtered through the biases of reader and writer. I'm not Rowling, and I'll never understand the impulses of her characters like she does. All I can do is equate. The only upside to that is, the further away I get from canon events, the greater impact that has on the people involved and the more varied their responses become.

That said, it behooves me to keep the canon characters in line.

I doubt anyone reading for the first time cared about the one-off mention of Scott's sister. Maybe after they got to know her.

Time traveller mayhaps?

The Sorting Hat has obviously seen Scott before at some point, but yes, you'll have to continue reading to find out when.

I laughed when I read that Trevor's last name was Bufonidae. Clever. I am loving the story!! I hope Scott doesn't beat up Snape, maybe a sparing match with words... I love Snape, I can't help myself. Love the original characters! They fit in perfectly.

Sorry for not responding sooner, I try to respond to all my reviews but somehow I missed this one. I'm afraid that I really don't share your love for Snape, and in fact I really think he's an a-hole. However, he's still a useful one so I won't be doing anything permanent to him... yet, anyway.

Thanks for reviewing!

I like original plots and interesting new characters. This is shaping up to be a great, well written story. Keep it up

Thank you. While I would never claim an entirely original plot, since I am, after all, following in the footsteps of Rowling's book six, I do try my best to have interesting original characters.

another interesting chapter. I can't wait to find out what happens next. I'm also excited to mean Scott's sister. She sounds interesting. I hope you update soon. I do like this story.

As much as I enjoy writing the dynamic between Scott and his sister, she still won't make an appearance for a couple more chapters. I hope you won't be disappointed when she does.

Thank you for reviewing.

Good chapter. I know I've read this story before on Fan Fiction. Net. This was some time back. I'm guessing you've gone back to writing this. If this is the situation, I'm looking forward to more.

Not precisely. I've never really stopped writing this story - in fact, there are seventeen completed chapters thus far. It's been the Beta process that's slowed me down the most. Constant revision, as well as creating multiple versions of chapters for the various websites I'm posted to (such as the editing I have to do to meet this site's T rating requirement) decrease my rate of posting.

Still, the increase in quality makes it worthwhile. Thanks for reviewing.

Absolutely wonderful! It was a terribly long wait for this chapter, though well worth it. Now for a few questions that you may or may not be able to answer:

that he would reveal himself to the core group of Primes

Who belongs to this "core group of Primes"? And what is it? My guess would be you can't answer either of these questions, but it would be nice if you gave us a hint.

Will Kylie become more and more important? Is that why you've given her such a big part in the chapter?

OK, I'll stop interrogating now. The names for the first-years, and all the people you've invented really, are practically up to par in creativity with J.K. Rowling's. Great job! Also, I love the way you have Ron and Hermione interact with Scott; they're very in-character. Overall, I am impressed as usual and look forward to the next chapter.

I apologize for the long wait. There were a variety of factors involved, most concerning the Beta process. Quality control, I've found, consumes a great deal of time. I've written seventeen chapters for this story, however, so it will be quite some time before I have to worry about actually writing a chapter before posting it.

The 'core group of Primes' is a designation which generally refers to those individuals who are of Priority 3 or higher in accordance to UO relevancy.

I don't know if that tells you anything, but is is an answer...

In regards to Kylie, both she and Trevor exist entirely for three reasons: one, to give Scott someone to talk to during the boat ride to the castle, two, to expand my cast of original characters in order to slightly diffuse the focus on my primary original character, and three, to do what Dean, Seamus, Lavender and all the rest of the secondary cast of the books do and give the impression that there's more going on at Hogwarts than just what happens to Harry and friends. So yes, she'll be making a reappearance, but no, she'll never be vital to the plot.

Thank you very much for your compliments (especially those about my characterization, since that's so very difficult for me sometimes) and another big thank you for reviewing.

Thanks! Hopefully I'll have the next chapter up more quickly than this one.
