I found this story to be very impressive. You write very fluidly and I love how you were able to incorporate your idea so logically into JKR's world. The characterizations of Ginny and the trio were spot on and I commend you for the way you were able to form this plotline--everything with the different laws and the situation between Remus and Tonks was completely believable. This fic had a level of detail that I don't usually find in fanfiction, and I'm sincerely impressed.

Thank you very much! I was trying to make it have the feel of the Potterverse, so I'm always glad to hear that somebody felt it worked.

I was wondering what legal shenanigans were going to be used--I just couldn't see the kidnapping caper happening here.

Thanks for a great read!

Thank you very much! I tried to make the kidnapping sound vaguely possible, but it always called for a legal rabbit to be brought out of the hat.

I was looking for another author begining with "s" and by chance scrolled down to you. I have read this story before but had to read it again. I just loved the outcome.

Heh, I registered at PS for the sole purpose of letting you know know much I enjoyed this story (and you don't accept anonymous reviews). So thank you very much for writing such a well-reserched, well-structured, perfectly canon and in-character story which, at least for me and until JKR says otherwise in her encyclopaedia or whereever, shall be the official continuation of DH.

Heh, thank you (although I just checked my settings and they allow anon reviews, so maybe it was just the site playing up?). Glad you found it in-character -- I was trying to get the right 'feel'.

Excellent! I love that the trio had a plan for polyjuice and a cooperative Auror, but it was trumped by Ginny's work and use of M. Pince! And, of course, it's always fun to see Umbridge slapped down!

Great story. I have thoroughly enjoyed it. Definitely an aspect I had not thought of and haven't really seen written. Keep writing.

"If you really need my help, just come and ask for it. I owe it to Remus and Tonks; it could so easily have been me who was killed instead of them."

- Yes, you do owe Remus and Tonks! Lol, like how you've included JKR's almost killing off of Arthur.

nicely wrapped up - i love that it was Ginny but mainly Madame Pince who came through in the end.

Thank you -- I thought Ginny needed to show herself able to do so, and it made a nice change to give Pince something to do.

Great story! I think you did an excellent job showing the political difficulties the "good guys" would have to deal with until the Umbridges of the world could be sorted out. Nicely plotted, too; I never expected Pince would be the one to save the day. This is a fic I'll want to re-read!

Thank you -- you'd imagine that it would take them some time to clean house at the Ministry. Glad you enjoyed it!

Ah, what a triumph! A triumph for our heroes, and a triumph of a story as well. I like your vision of these young adults sticking together and supporting one another, taking on the world and making it a better place by so doing. It's a happy vision (happier than my own personal imaginations of the postwar world, if you must know), but not an unearned happiness; they've fought for it, they're working for it, they have their dreams and intentions in the right place. I have to admit that I'm kind of disappointed you didn't make it necessary for them to make use of their resuce plan; it was ingeniously plotted, and it would have given us a look (though your eyes) at Neville and Luna and Dean in action! But then again, the ending you gave us put Ginny to marvelous use: ever the observer of the Trio from the outside, in turns out that her observations enabled to pick up on something everyone else had missed! Just wonderful.

Thanks ever so much for this, one of the finer lengthy treatments of the postwar Wizarding world I've ever read. I hope your well doesn't run dry anytime soon!

Thank you -- yes, the Trio and Ginny definitely have the Right Stuff. I know what you mean about the rescue plan, but I suppose I had to try to make it sound workable enough not to be an obvious placeholder. And I thought it was about time that Ginny got to be the one who saved the day for once.

Thanks so much for this fic, you had me worried for a little while that Teddy wouldn't get to know Harry for many years... I especially liked how you had Ginny come up with the coup de grace, thus finally integrating her into the trio in a believable manner.

Lovely job!

Thank you -- I hoped to make it look as if they weren't going to pull it out of the bag. And I thought it was about time that Ginny made a direct contribution to things.

Many congratulations for completing one of the most riveting fanfiction I have read in 4 years. Hundreds passed through my brain and eyes but this certainly stands out as one of the more mesmerising and intellectual work ever!

Please do send me an e-mail should you write another fic. I would love to read them. I go for post DH (post Hogwarts or the Next Generation0 and Canon based rather than AU. I would certainly love to read one you could easily write about the Potter family.

Your writing technique is excellent.

Thank you very much! Always good to know that a fic has been particularly enjoyed. I don't have any other post-Battle fics in the pipeline, but I'll let you know if I do write one.

Well done! The forces of good emerged triumphant.

It is harder to write a tightly plotted four chapter story than the longer ones. The courtroom scenes were excellent. And it is important that Harry realize just how smart and capable Ginny is before they begin a life together.

Umbridge was revealed to be the evil witch she has been all along. I got a chuckle about Rita Skeeter's backpedaling-
it is likely Shacklebolt will be able to use the plot uncovered by your reporter as an example of the dangers of allowing prejudiced elements of the old regime to disrespect not only war heroes and Muggles, but even the ICW Statutes themselves …"
Monday 13th October 2008 13:43A Law of the Medes and Persians (Author Response)
Thakn you. Yes, I thought Ginny needed to be the one to have the winning idea here. As for Rita ... well, she's a pragmatist I think. She writes whatever will sell in the current climate, and doesn't concern herself overmuch with consistency or accuracy. She could get a job with any British tabloid no questions asked.

A terrific finish to a very clever and well-developed story! Congratulations : )

This chapter had all the intellect and sheen of the rest, and the final courtroom scene did not disappoint. Poor Umbridge - will she ever triumph over teenagers? Nah, I'm kidding, stupid woman deserves everything terrible that comes her way... Wretched toad...

I like your subtle references to the 'real world' dotted throughout this fic. I picked the one about the name 'David' right away, ans that gave me a laugh, and I had a bit of a wistful giggle (if such a thing exists) at Mr Weasleys line "I owe it to Remus and Tonks; it could so easily have been me who was killed instead of them." How right he is!

This might be one of the cleverest fics I've read in a long time. Your hard work developing a very creative plotline certainly paid off. Congratulations again, and thank you for a very enjoyable read.

Thank you very much! I'm glad you liked the plot and the way it all panned out (you never can tell if it'll go down well), and I'm always pleased when someone gets the throwaway references. I was a bit wistful writing that line. As for Umbridge -- well, she rather brings it on herself, eh?
