Ginny's Sixth Year at Hogwarts
excellent chapter.

Things are getting darker. I suppose you are right in your assumption that Ginny would not tell everything about what was going on inside Hogwarts Castle.

Well Done!

Thank you. I can't see how Arthur and Molly would let her go back if they realized how bad it was. Snape could protect her from the Carrows to some extent but she was still in danger.

The darkest times are coming.

Really good chapter. I've been following this with another DH fic, and havfe not got confused so far. It strange how they are so similar with some things but different with others. I guess thats why Ginny listening to Potterwatch for the first time threw me, in the other fic they listen to it in the RoR.

Anyway, good fic, and keep up the quick updates. It is an excellent piece.

Thank you for your comments. I have tried not to read any Ginny's Sixth Year fan fics until mine is finally posted. I am sure that my friend Kathryn's is great. I am looking forward to being able to read it. We have the same Beta so I know we are progressing through the year at the same rate.

I am writing Ginny's Seventh Year now and know it will take more time. I'm all out of plot to allude to. Sigh!

Ginny's Sixth Year at Hogwarts
A tense yet still up-beat chapter.
Ginny's peril at Hogwarts is over but Neville will be so worried. War is horrible like that, you don't know who to trust and it's hard to nearly impossible to stay in touch with friends and loved ones.

The most brilliant line in this chapter for me was:
‘Ginny, this is Clean X. They work like handkerchiefs, but you throw them away.’
LOL, Kleenex! Hah, you kill me *snort*

When I saw the first line on the description of the safe-house I immediatly thought "Hey, that's Harry & Ginny's house! The one that Ron re-build for them."

The month of May and thus the battle is drawing near.
Thank you once again for a wonderful time.

Until next time, take care

Thanks for taking the time to write a review. You are correct that Ginny is safe now but must constantly worry about Neville and the rest back at Hogwarts. She has no way of knowing about the Room of Requirement coming to the rescue again.

I keep looking for endearing comments for dear Arthur to make. So many bad things are about to happen.

Yes, Harry and Ginny buy Auntie Muriel's house and fill it with love and children. All Hail, St Margarets! Not only does she create memorable characters and settings, she inspires her admirers.

:-)
You´re just great! - about the motorbike THANKS!
With the dates I meant that March 1, 1998 was Sunday, March 25 was Wednesday (but I really love that you put them on different days as it´s the very thing JKR does, and she shifts three days or so) :-)
My point in the discussion about the Fidelius on the web page was that Harry (landing with dying Dobby and seeking help) could actually see the house without having been told by Bill (Ron wasn´t the secret keeper, so his telling was not enough - with Fidelius on it Harry should be able to apparate to the location given by Ron but shouldn´t be able to see the house nor enter it ).
However, the discussion started with the question if Dobby could apparate there if the house was under the Fidelius, which I believe he could (elf magic!), and it was just interesting for me to come across it again today. I have no problem whatsoever accepting your artistic decision to put the Shell Cottage under Fidelius.
Ginny was very excited because, although there were rumors at Hogwarts about the underground resistance broadcasts, she had never actually heard one.
???
Oh, I enjoy all your stories!

I guess either Ginny or I must be getting absent minded. Which one of us is 78?

JKR has Harry able to see it so it must be a badly cast Fidelius. Poor Bill must be losing it.

First off Kate, I have to apologise for not reviewing the earlier chapters - I have read and enjoyed them all!

And now, well done on filling in all the missing details from DH, that we don't get to see in the Harry perspective. I enjoy all the little details you put in about how life during a war is led.

Keep it up - I will look forward to the Ginny/Molly/bruised cheek conversation

No excuses! It is not as though you moved to another country and/or were threatened by an out of control bush fire with lots of smoke that made it hard for your children to breathe and knocked you off line.

Yes, I guess you do have a reason not to be reading about Ginny and her mother.

Thank you for your warm and supportive review. I will try to answer each of your points.

I have a very dog-eared copy of Deathly Hallows that still has different coloured post-it notes hanging out of it. My reading is that Ron left early Christmas morning and that the two nights he was near Harry and Hermione were the 25th and 26th. That is why I think the explosion was earlier than other people might place it.

Harry knew that Bill and Fleur were living at Shell Cottage because Ron told him but JKR is not specific that he had ever learned its exact location. Dobby obviously knew it and Harry thinks Bill and Fleur's...Shell Cottage... Bill and Fleur's... as he is leaving Malfoy Manor. Bill has seen Ron so he must have come out looking for Harry. Perhaps his intent to allow him in is sufficient.

Ginny listens to Potterwatch at the Burrow on Christmas Eve. My feeling is that the students at Hogwarts can't pick it up.

Harry staying at the Burrow for his missing 24 hours was what started my writing. I am glad you still enjoy the first story.

Fred and George and Fabian and Gideon (and Molly and Ginny) are kindred souls with Auntie Muriel. I thought we needed some levity before all "Hell Breaks Loose".

I am still finishing the September chapters of Ginny's Seventh Year. There has not yet been a Hogsmeade weekend and Harry is still living at the Burrow and doing his split assignment internship with the Ministry. I'll try to include Sirius' Flying Motorcycle toward the end. After all, he rode it to the Burrow in the very first story when he was fourteen months old and Ginny was not yet twelve weeks old.

Ginny's Sixth Year at Hogwarts
Yay!
First, I´m happy to find out that you handle the dates as deliberately as JKR does (though you´re just one day behind )
Second, there was a huge discussion on our HP page last week whether or not the Fidelius Charm had been cast on the Shell Cottage when Dobby side-apparated Dean, Luna, Ollivander and Griphook there. I was in the not group, my argument was Harry being able to see the house though not told about its whereabouts by Bill the Secret Keeper. It was interesting to see the issue in your chapter saying the opposite!
Third, I was very surprised to hear it was Ginny´s first PotterWatch broadcast. Well, I know it´s a different fanfic where the students listen to it at Hogwarts, but wasn´t there one while she was home on her Christmas holidays? I´m quite sure there was!
Fourth, thanks for bringing up the idea of Lily and Molly being friends again. It´s one of my favourites of your HP universe (as well as your explanation of THE missing moment - Harry´s 24 hours between Oct31-Nov1, 1981; it was actually the first reason I started reading your fanfics )
Fifth, THANK YOU for yet another lovely chapter! You´re doing such a marvelous job on these un-easy chapters. And we all know that really terrible ones are yet to come. Am I right to suppose we are going to get a last somewhat lighter one with the twins driving Aunt Muriel crazy with their owl order? And I suspect you are not going to spare us any deaths? (I still have hopes -though not very high - for the movies as they handle the books in their own fashion :rolleyes
Last, and this one may be a bit odd but... are you not, by any chance, planning to mention Sirius´s motorbike in Ginny´s seventh year? It´s just that JKR said in the interview that Mr. Weasley repaired it and it ended in Harry´s posession - but no one seems to mention it in any post Hogwarts fanfiction
Anyway, thanks again for sharing this!
