These Cuts I Have
I like that you continue to have Harry's friends caring for him. It's a part of the story I've always liked and I'm glad you continue to include it and keep it core.

Your portrayal of the Weasley brothers is spot on. The awkwardness of trying to include Percy even though they still don't really want to is well developed in every chapter.

Harry and Ginny, well, what can I say? They are still teenagers so the moment-to-moment changes in emotion are to be expected. That said, I'm glad I'm not a teenager anymore! I'm glad Ginny can help him emotionally and also drive him nuts.

Interesting take on Malfoy. I'm curious to see where you take this because I was kind of under the impression that they accepted each other after the end. I'm open to see where you take them.

Looking forward to more!

Thanks! I love the idea of Harry's friends being protective. He's so needed that all his life. Ron, I think, is a fairly over-protective character, anyway, and after watching Harry "die," he'd want to do anything to keep from feeling that way again.

Thanks! I'm glad you love Ron, I love him, too. Yes, exactly! it's old habit, something familiar for Harry to fall back on, and I think he needed that. Plus, I love the rivalry between the two, and I'm not ready to let that go!

Another excellent chapter! I like the direction you've got all of the characters headed. It's different from anyone elses' stories and I'm enjoying that. The meltdown last chapter was great, too! I will go back and review later. The overhang of unfinished business is interesting, too. Just what are the remaining Death Eaters up to? Interesting, although I'm surprised the Malfoys haven't gone to ground. I would have expected them to carefully mind themselves given all of the trouble they have been in. Are you going to bring Narcissa into the story? In their situation, I think she would have been the better contact for Harry, or is she unaware that Death Eaters have been contacting Lucius and Draco?

Thanks! I'm not planning on using Narcissa. Personally, I think there's more story with Draco, so he'll be around for a bit. I'm glad the chapter with Harry's breakdown is out, lol. That one had been percolating for quite some time.

Another excellent chapter!

I like how you point out that Ron and Hermione really don't know much at all about how the Dursleys treat Harry. They know he doesn't like going home, and Molly and Arthur clearly always knew something was up, but Harry's never shared it with them. Yet in his healing process, perhaps they needed to know.

I was actually surprised by Harry and Draco's continued harshness towards one another, but it rang true.

Thanks! I know by the epilogue that Harry and Draco are civil, but there has to be more interaction between the two to get them there since the last time they saw one another, Malfoy tried to hand Harry over to the Death Eaters. There has to be something more...

These Cuts I Have
There are a lot of things I like about this chapter, so I'll start at the beginning and go from there. First, the conversation between Ginny, Ron and Hermione… Just the fact that they all need hot chocolate to help them recover from Harry's breakdown shows just how much they care for him. It made me smile when Ginny noticed and appreciated the fact that Hermione was holding back her questions because it gave Ginny the opportunity to ask her own and get the answers she wanted. As serious as the discussion was, it seems that Ginny finally has all the good lines: her statement that abuse can be more than just physical certainly rings true as does what she says about everyone needing to feel safe in their own skin and Harry obviously doesn't now that he knows he was a Horcrux for so long.

Another thing I liked about that scene was how Ginny instinctively knew how to include first Percy and then Charlie into the discussion. As the youngest, I think she sees and remembers a great deal more than her brothers give her credit for and it seems she uses what she knows to help bolster Percy's confidence that he truly is part of the family again. Their discussion about Ginny's chocolate-stealing habit made me smile.

I loved the scene between Harry and Ginny. It starts so tenderly, their conversation so honest and supportive that when Harry admits to her that she was his last thought it's just natural that sparks would fly and the breathing get hot and heavy. They needed the discussion (again, Ginny's line about Harry having more scars than she can see rings so true) to not only help them heal their relationship but to build the trust that will make it stronger in the future. Can't help chuckling at Molly's interruption; somehow she just knows when to make sure her children are still around and not getting into any mischief.

I'm really glad Harry and Ron are continuing to support one another. While Ron still is a bit clueless about certain things, the fact that he's willing to continue to have Harry's back even after their mission is complete shows how much he values Harry's friendship and opinions. I laughed at the final scene at the shop when Ron finally gave into his growling stomach and went in search of lunch and ended up backing up Harry against Malfoy. It seems Draco just might be feeling a little beholden to Harry so that he made an effort to warn him about worrisome whisperings. It just makes me sad that the losing side can't admit defeat and leave Harry alone. That's not the way the world works, unfortunately.

No matter what, this is once again a brilliant chapter that deserves !

Oh yay, things to like! As long as there are more things to like than dislike, I'm doing okay!

Chocolate helps everything - Lupin would definitely approve. I'm glad you like Ginny. I often have her say things I want to say to the characters, but really strive to keep her in her own character. She's far bolder than I. I definitely would've retreated in the face of Harry's growing anger, but I don't think Ginny would.

Ron is maturing, but yes, it won't be overnight. And sometimes, I find his cluelessness endearing. Remember, I have three teenage sons, and clueless nails it! Thanks for the two thumbs up! (Am I old that I knew what that referenced?) Don't answer that!
