Disclaimer: I own nothing. Alas. Not even the stars are mine. *pout*.
Author's Notes: Strange ideas, these. Does it sound like Luna? I'm kinda random, too, but I'm not quite this bad...

He was hiding from Ginny for the thirteenth time when he saw her. Luna Lovegood was lying on her back by Otter River, her pretty silver dress spread around her. She was staring up at the stars, one hand lazily playing with the string of tiny silver moons around her neck.
"Er…hey, Luna." he said awkwardly, sitting down next to her. "What are you doing?"
"Isn't it amazing, the way the stars twinkle?" Luna replied dreamily. "Just think, so many of them have been dead for decades, and yet they still shine, letting us know that death won't keep them from us."
He got the feeling that she was trying to tell him something, so he lay down beside her with a murmur that could have been agreement or 'I'm sorry, but I seem to have swallowed a porcupine, would you please remove it?'
"I wonder what they're trying to say, sometimes," the blonde confided. "They have their own language, one we don't speak. Sometimes I feel like they could solve my problems in a moment. It's like they're standing outside the window, looking in at us all, and from their place they can see the entire room, but we can only see our little piece. Maybe that's why we make mistakes. Because we can't leave the room, and they already have."
"Maybe we need to find the door."
"Oh, there's a door, Harry." She didn't take her eyes off the sky. "We've seen it. But I think you know as well as I do that it's not time for us to open that door and see what's on the other side." She did turn around, then, her strange silver eyes pinning him, no longer vague. "We only get to be in the warm room a little while," she said softly. "There's only so long that we can warm ourselves by the fire, before we have to sing. And it'll be very hard if we don't know the words."
"What are you saying?" Harry asked, confused. Why couldn't she speak English?
"Enjoy life, Harry. You only get one." She placed a gentle kiss on his cheek, her lips cool and soft. "Oh, look," she said dreamily, "here comes Ginny. I think you should check her hair for evil sprites. She's so pretty today, the Elf King might decide to make her his bride."
