A/N: Hello everyone! Before we get into the chapter I just wanted to warn everyone that this chapter is extremely sugar coated and fluffy. It really doesn't add much to the plot until much later in the story. The next few chapters are pretty heavy and full of angst so I wanted something to give us a little break and see that there is happiness in the Wizarding world. I also wanted to let you know that this chapter is fairly sexually explicit. Nothing is really mentioned and it was hopefully done tastefully but it you are not comfortable with that kind of thing go ahead and email me and I'll tell you what you need to know from this chapter. I hope you enjoy my attempt at fluff. Disclaimer: I own nothing in the Harry Potter Universe. It all belongs to JK Rowling. Though you have no idea how many times I've wished that I had come up with the idea first. Tap! Tap! Tap! Ginny Potter snuggled further into her blankets as she slowly woke up. She had been dreaming, and it was such a lovely dream. She closed her eyes again, hoping that sleep would come to claim her again. Tap! Tap! Tap! "Go away!" Ginny mumbled. "Still sleeping." Tap! Tap! Tap! She opened one eye and peeked out from her blankets. From her window, three owls looked at her. Ginny groaned. It was far too early in the morning for post. But ever since Harry had his brilliant idea the owls had been arriving non-stop. Tap! Tap! Tap! Ginny rolled her eyes. "Alright, alright, I'm coming," she said in a croaky voice. She stumbled toward the window and opened it slowly. Cordelia, daughter of Hedwig, soared through, followed by two other birds that Ginny vaguely recognised as Hogwarts owls. Each bore a letter addressed to, not her, but Harry. She silently cursed her husband for coming up with this hair-brained scheme of his as she took the letters from the owls. She looked at Cordelia and stroked the bird softly. "Well you know where the treats are," she said fondly. "Off with you." Cordelia soared out of the window followed by the other two owls. She watched them as all three settled into their own owlery before she turned back to her bed and her still-sleeping husband. She climbed back into bed and set the letters on her bedside table. They could wait. At that moment she really wanted Harry to make waking up so early worth her while. She snuggled up next to Harry and began to run her fingers up and down his arms. "Hmmm," she heard him mumble. She moved to his back and began to rub his muscles. She planted soft kisses against his shoulders and neck. He stretched luxuriously and turned around to face Ginny. He wore a goofy smile, which made Ginny grin in spite of herself. "Good morning," he said as he reached for his wife. "What a nice way to wake up." "Hm!" Ginny said with disgust. "Nice for you anyway." She snuggled into him, and breathed in his scent. He smelled as only he could, like a summer breeze and wild adventures, and she snuggled closer to him. This was her favourite way to wake up. She felt his lips upon her head as he placed a small kiss in her hairline. "I do love you, you know," she said to him. "I know," he said as he pulled back to look into her eyes. "So what are we doing up so early?" "It's all your fault," she said. "Ever since you had that brilliant idea of yours, the owls have been here day and night." "I know, Ginny. I'm sorry," he said but his eyes twinkled, and Ginny knew that he was not sorry in the least. "Liar," she said as she playfully swatted his arm. "Alright," he said with a sigh. "So I'm not that sorry, but you're the one who wanted to stop Ron from making the biggest mistake of his life." Ginny grinned wickedly. "He is making the biggest mistake of his life. You know, I'm grateful to Lavender for helping Ron move on with his life. But she's not right for him and I think he knows it." "I know," Harry said as he placed a small peck on the end of Ginny's nose. "So what news did the owls bring this time?" "No idea," Ginny said, rolling away from Harry and retrieving the letters from her bedside table. He reached for them but Ginny held them just out of his reach. "Hey," Harry whined, "give me those." "Nope," Ginny said with a wicked gleam in her eye. "You have to pay for them. I'm awake far too early to be nice to you." Harry tried to look put out, but Ginny could tell that he was enjoying their banter every bit as much as she was. "Well," he said with a mock sigh, "if I must." He placed a lingering kiss on her lips. She sighed with pleasure as Harry deepened the kiss. When they parted at last, Ginny had a dreamy expression on her face. "Was that satisfactory for you, my dear Ginny?" Harry asked in a husky voice. "That will do," Ginny said happily, "for now anyway." She handed Harry the letters, and he sat up in bed, grabbing his glasses. Once they were securely on his nose, he opened the first letter. He began to read. Dear Mr. Potter, I do not know how you do it every time. You have not only solved my problem but you have started what promises to be a very interesting year. I am pleased to inform you that our new Arithmancy is none other than Hermione Granger. Thank you so very much for your suggestion. I am looking forward to the coming school year with interest. Yours sincerely, Minerva McGonagall Harry started laughing. "Well," he said, "it looks like Phase One is officially complete." "Just how many phases are in this plan of yours?" Ginny asked him. "As many as it takes. They can be quite stubborn." "They can at that," Ginny said with a small laugh. She handed him the next letter. "So what does the next one say?" "If I'm right it should be from Neville." He opened the letter. Harry, mate! It was great to see Hermione again. I hope this plan of yours works. I sent off a letter to Ron telling him that Hermione was back. You got her here not a moment too soon. He had a big date tonight. I think that tonight was going to be the night, if you get my meaning. I hope that I didn't mess him up too badly, poor boy. I hope you know what you're doing because Lavender is going to kill you if she ever finds out that you're messing with Ron that way. And you thought Voldemort was scary. Anyway, good luck with that. Neville Harry was openly laughing by the end of the letter. Ginny smiled at her husband. "He's right, you know, Harry," she said. "Lavender is going to kill you if she ever finds out." "She's not going to find out," Harry said. "Besides, even if she does, she'll be so deliriously happy that she'll kiss me when all is said and done." Ginny frowned. "She'd better not have her lips anywhere near you." "It's just an expression," Harry said. "You know you're the only one for me." "It better always stay that way, Potter." "Don't worry, it always will." Harry leaned over and placed another smouldering kiss on her lips. Ginny grinned dreamily. "Hm," she said with happiness, "let's do that again." "Letter first, snogging afterward." Harry said. Ginny pouted. Harry laughed again and planted a tiny peck on the end of her nose which caused Ginny to scowl. Harry was laughing harder than ever and it was with great difficulty that he pulled himself together to read the next letter. Harry, I am in so much trouble. I don't even know where to start. I got a letter from Neville earlier; he says Hermione's back. What does he mean Hermione's back? She can't be back. But she's all I can think about. I even botched the perfect marriage proposal to Lavender that I've had planned for weeks now. What am I going to do? Lavender will kill me. I just left her sitting there. What should I do? The weird thing is, I know I care about Lavender, but I'm not so sure it's enough anymore. Maybe I just need some sleep. I love Lavender, right? This is so bloody confusing. What do I do? Write soon. Say hi to Ginny for me. Ron "Poor Ron," Ginny said with a sigh. "Are you sure you're doing the right thing?" "The only thing I've been surer of was marrying you," Harry said earnestly. "Ron and Hermione are perfect for each other. Everyone knows that but them." "I know. This is going to be hard on them though." "They'll thank me when it's done. Besides they don't even have to know that I was in any way involved." "Hermione will figure it out." Harry sighed. "Probably, but by then, she won't care." "So," Ginny said, "what are you going to do about Lavender? She doesn't deserve to have her heart broken." "I know, I've got it all taken care of." Harry smirked slightly as he said this. "Just what do you have going on Mr. Potter?" Ginny asked suspiciously. "Promise not to tell?" asked Harry. "Harry…" Ginny said dangerously. "Alright, alright I'll tell you," said Harry with a laugh. "Do you remember Anthony Golstein?" "You mean that Ravenclaw bloke in your year?" "That's the one. Did you know that he's had a crush on Lavender since about third year." "Really?" asked Ginny. She frowned, "I'm not sure he's Lavender's type." "They're perfect for each other. Under all those brains, he has quite the wild side." Ginny looked at him with an odd expression on her face. "Or so I'm told anyway…" he said. "But he was always so quiet." Harry grinned. "It's always the quiet ones," he said with a tone of ultimate smugness. "How do you know all this?" Ginny asked incredulously. "I don't think you really want to know." "Oh, but I do." Ginny crossed her arms and glared at her husband. "Well you know that portrait of Dumbledore in the study?" "Yeah, you said it was important to keep it so that you could always remember what we lost during the War." Harry looked sheepish. "Well, that's partly right." "What do you mean partly?" Ginny asked looking incredibly like her mother. Harry gulped. She would either take his news really well or she would be incredibly angry with him. "Well," Harry began, "he also has portraits everywhere else of importance. Hogwarts, St. Mungo's, and the Ministry are just a few. He can be…very useful while gathering information. If you get what I mean." "Are you telling me," asked Ginny quietly, "that you have had Dumbledore spying for you?" "Well, I don't keep his portrait around because I was fond of the man's looks." Ginny laughed. "That's brilliant! Can I use him sometime?" Harry sighed in relief. "Of course you can." "Good." Ginny looked at Harry with fire in her eyes. "So, now that you've read your letters I believe you still have to make being awake this early worth it." "Oh I shall, Mrs. Potter, I shall." He leaned in to kiss her. He reached for her, and Ginny found herself trembling with anticipation. His lips touched hers, and Ginny felt as if Heaven itself were wrapped around her. She sighed happily when Harry pulled away slightly. "Harry," Ginny said breathlessly. "Yes, my love," Harry said as he trailed light kisses down her neck and across her shoulders. "Take me flying," she said as she angled her neck to give him better access. He stopped his kissing for a moment. "Do you mean literally or figuratively?" he asked her. She removed his glasses, and set them down on the table behind her. "Why don't you keep doing what you were doing, and we'll discuss the details later." He grinned at her. "Yes dear," he said as they lost themselves in each others embrace.
Also, the next chapter is finished in rough draft form. There are some serious things that need to be fixed but it shouldn't take nearly as long as this one did. Thank you to everyone for your support and kind words. You keep me going and keep me writing. As always, if you read, please review. I can't improve without your input and I really want to be a better writer. Thanks again!
