Harry was on autopilot that morning. He couldn't get Ginny out of his mind. She had told him she loved him. He had confessed his love to her. He was dazed. He lingered on the feeling of her laying on him after their last passionate kiss last night. He touched his chest where her head had lain. She knew Harry's secret now and it hadn't scared her off. Harry realized he was now more afraid for Ginny than he was for himself. Harry resolved that he would never let anything happen to her. She said she wanted to be there for Harry, no matter what and he knew he felt the same way. Before he knew it, he had dressed and was heading down to breakfast. Ginny was waiting for him at the top of the stairs. Neither of them said anything but they embraced each other automatically when they were close enough. They stood there hugging each other for several moments. "Everything all right, you two?" It was Remus' voice. "Never better," Ginny replied, not letting go of Harry. Remus eyed Harry. "Well, you best get to the kitchen. Molly is starting to wonder where you two are." Harry eased up on his hug and they parted slowly, sliding their arms behind each other's back, and made their way into the kitchen, joined at the hip. They let go just as they crossed the threshold. "'Bout time, mate. Where ya been?" Ron said through a mouthful of sausage. "Overslept," Harry dodged and followed Ginny to their usual spot at the table, sitting down to eat. After breakfast, they all Flooed to the Burrow for Apparation practice. Harry knew they were almost ready for their tests. Arthur was ready to certify Ginny right away, but Dumbledore insisted that they all had to be tested by an independent committee. Hermione and Ron wanted to get in some final practice, so Harry sat with Remus to watch. "Where's Ginny?" Harry asked, noticing she wasn't around. "She went with Molly to shop in Diagon Alley today." Harry nodded. He loved to watch her Apparate around. He especially liked playing Apparate-and-go-seek with her. She was much too good at it, though, and although Harry never won, he didn't mind losing to Ginny at all. "Actually, this gives us the perfect opportunity to talk." Harry froze. "About what, Remus?" Remus chuckled. "Harry, Harry, Harry. You're a thumpin' good wizard, but you still have so much to learn. If you do make it as an Auror, and I have no reason to believe you won't, there won't be a dark witch or wizard in the world who is going to stand a chance." Harry listened to Remus nervously. "The Order headquarters has more detection and protection spells on it than any other location in the Wizarding world, save Hogwarts. One of these detection mechanisms is the Apparation Tracker. Now, while it isn't possible to Apparate into, out of, or around Hogwarts, the same isn't true for headquarters." Harry gulped. He was caught! He braced for what might come next. "You should be thankful that last night was my watch, Harry." Harry started to sweat. "Remus, nothing happened! I swear! I didn't ask her to come! She'd been Apparating into my room at night as a joke! I only discovered her last night! You have to believe me! Nothing happened!" Remus put up his hand. "Woah, Harry, slow down, take it easy." Harry stopped and regained his breath. "Like I said, it was my watch, and only you and I know." "You're not going to turn me in?" Harry said. Remus laughed. "Okay, okay, let's take this one from the top. Take a deep breath, Harry. Close your eyes and clear your mind. Put last night aside and put Ginny out of your mind as much as you can." Harry tried hard to relax. He wasn't going to be tortured at the hands of his true love's vengeful parents. Slowly his heart returned to a somewhat normal pace. "That's better. Now, Harry, like I said, from the beginning. Don't laugh and don't think I think you're stupid or anything. Do you know where babies come from?" Well, that was useless. Now he was tense again. He was going to have the talk. With Remus! Oh, thank Merlin this was Remus. "Yeah, Remus, I know that much." "Good. Now, next question: How many kids do the Weasleys have?" Whew, easy question. Bill, Charlie, Percy, the twins, Ron and Ginny. Seven. Harry blinked. "Oh sweet Merlin, Remus." Remus laughed heartily. "You see? You think Arthur and Molly don't know what you're going through? You think they don't want to see Ginny in a healthy relationship? Molly's always talked about marrying Ginny off to somebody handsome, and charming, and warm, and caring," Remus sang, very Molly-like. "She's been talking about it ever since Ginny was born. Arthur told me it used to drive Bill and Charlie nuts. And then, as I'm sure you're aware, you and Ron became friends at school, and Ron told Molly all about you. Now, don't get me wrong, Harry. There's nothing bigger in this whole world than Molly Weasley's heart. She took you in because she honestly cares for you, and she knew you needed the motherly love that you could never get from your Aunt. But she couldn't help but wish that you and Ginny could one day be together." "So, you don't think she'd be mad if she found out about last night?" "Mad? Harry, she'd KILL you!" Harry was shocked for a second, but then they both laughed. "Yeah, okay, that was silly of me." Remus nodded. "Ginny still isn't even of age, Harry. And even if she was, that aspect of love is not something to be taken lightly. Even when she does become of age, it doesn't automatically mean that she will be ready. Regardless of your attitude towards it, it is undeniably one of the strongest forces in nature. Trust me on this; I get to experience the urges in two species." "Remus! EEEEWW!" Harry exclaimed as Remus snickered. "Sorry, Harry, couldn't help myself. All kidding aside, Harry, take a moment and imagine how Ginny must feel about experiencing that with you." Remus trusted Harry with Molly's secrets; he could trust Remus with his. "I don't have to imagine, Remus. Ginny and I had this talk last night." "And?" Remus asked. "We both feel the same way. We both want very much to experience it together. But we also agreed that we weren't ready yet, and that we wanted our first time to be special." It was Remus' turn to beam. "It must have taken an awful lot of willpower to keep your hands off of her, Harry." "You have no idea, Remus. And it wasn't just me who had a hard time resisting." Remus paused a moment. "Now, Harry, we've established that you and Ginny are going to wait. Good. But, just as an aside, when you and Ginny decided to, uh, make your love complete, do you know, uh... what you want to do?" Harry hung his head. "Now that you mention it..." Harry trailed off. "Remus, I want our first time to be special, but bloody hell if I know how to make Ginny happy in that way." To Harry's relief, Remus didn't laugh. "You know the basics, Harry, but as you suspect, there can be more to it. Oh so much more to it." Harry nodded. "I don't want our first time to be average, Remus. I want to show Ginny how I feel about her. By the end of that night, I want Ginny to be free of any doubt that I love her, or of how much I love her. I want to give myself to her completely, and I want to make her the happiest witch alive." Remus smiled, almost blushing. "I won't lie to you, Harry. Being good takes experience. It takes time. Now, don't get me wrong; I'm not suggesting you go out and find someone to practice with or anything like that. Far from it. You're not going to be wonder-lover on your first night, but you don't have to be. All you have to do is love her. She loves you, Harry, never forget that, and it'll make her the happiest witch alive just knowing that you want to make her happy. Trust me on this." It didn't encourage Harry completely, but it did make him feel better. "I know, Remus. I just can't help thinking of the irony of it. Here I am, Famous Harry Potter, leader of Dumbledore's Army, and clumsiest lover in the word." Remus chuckled. "All right then, Harry. Time to get out with it. I have a special gift for you back at headquarters." Harry looked up, suddenly very interested. "What, Remus?" "It's a surprise, Harry. But I'll tell you this: your invisibility cloak isn't the only thing of your father's that survived." Harry and Remus returned to headquarters ahead of Ron and Hermione, who were finishing up their practice with Moody and Mr. Weasley. Remus retrieved his satchel and pulled something wrapped in brown paper. Harry opened it; it was a book entitled, The Gentleman's Guide to Passionate Lovemaking, Author Unknown. Harry blushed. "Don't worry, Harry, it's not illustrated. Everyone seems to think it's because the author wanted to preserve the sensibilities of the readers. That's partially why they call it the 'Gentleman's Guide'. It's been around for ages. Your father gave it to me after he and your mom got married." "You're a lifesaver, Remus. I don't know how to thank you." Remus brought up his hand. "You are a good man, Harry. You are a credit to wizard kind and an honor to your family name. No thanks are necessary. Now hurry up and hide it in your room. And be sure it's somewhere where Ginny won't find it." Harry turned quickly to run up to his room and stopped dead, halfway to the stairs. "Remus! Is there a 'Lady's Guide', too?" Just then, Mrs. Weasley popped out of the Floo fire. Harry continued up to his room quickly, returning after he had stashed his book away. By the time he came back down, Ron, Hermione, Mr. Weasley and Moody had returned from the Burrow. Ginny wasn't in the living room, and as if to answer his question, Ginny appeared in the hallway from the direction of her room. "Hi, Gin. Have fun shopping?" Ginny walked over, took Harry's hand, and gave him an all-too-innocent peck on the check. "Sure did, handsome." "Uh oh," Harry said playfully. "What did you do?" "Can't tell you, Harry. It's a secret." Harry made his best puppy-dog-eyes in an attempt to sway her decision. "You'll find out soon enough, Harry. I promise." "Well, that's okay, then." "Harry, I have a favor to ask you." "Sure, what is it?" "Would you be upset if I spent some time with Hermione today? It's been a while since we've had girl time, you know?" Harry felt a little guilty. Did Ginny really think she had to ask Harry's permission? "Ginny, of course not! I love you, but I don't expect you to spend every minute of every day with only me. Not that I wouldn't MIND that, but you know.... Besides, I've been thinking the same thing about Ron. With all that's been going on, we haven't really talked since we started Apparation practice." Ginny hugged Harry. "We'll be in Diagon Alley if you need me, Harry." She took his face in her hands and licked all around his lips with her tongue seductively. "Something to remember me by." With that, she skipped down the stairs and waved Hermione to the Floo fire. Hermione gave Ron a hug and a quick kiss before she and Ginny Flooed away.
