Ginny sat on a rock under a large oak tree, staring into the lake's shadowy depths. Tears were pouring silently down her face. She had been sitting like this for the past few hours, her mind jumbled. She knew that her brothers were worried and looking for her, for they had done it every night before. They never found her. But she didn't care. Nothing mattered anymore.
Ginny sat at this place every night. She had been doing it for about a month. She was here every single night without fail, always crying, her mind always on one certain person.
She could remember him like it was yesterday, yesterday that he had spun her around in the air, yesterday that he had hugged her, yesterday that he had told her that she would grow up to be a beautiful young woman. She remembered him.
The tears came harder now. She couldn't help it. She wanted more than anything to just see his face one more time.
She sat there for several more hours, just thinking and crying. She finally got up to go to her dorm. She stood up, wiping tears from her eyes, and turned around.
She walked in silence for a few minutes. She noticed the leaves, the vibrant red and browns. She noticed the dark shadows of the trees lining the forbidden forest. She noticed the bright, clear, yellow moon, and the way it formed a perfect crescent.
Ginny remembered how they and used to go and sit, watching the moon, listening to the wind, and just talked on summer nights. The tears started forming again.
A soft wind started up. It almost sounded like a whisper. When Ginny listened closely, it almost seemed to be saying her name. She heard it again, a little louder. "Ginny!"
"Who's there?" she whispered into the dark, cool night. She didn't expect an answer, though. She knew it was just a figure of her imagination.
But she got an answer. A figure in the darkness that she hadn't noticed turned, and she found herself looking into bright, emerald eyes.
"Harry, what are you doing down here?" she questioned, her voice catching.
"I could say the same for you. You know how worried we were." He answered, looking at her thoughtfully. "Where were you?"
"Nowhere," Ginny whispered. She could feel hot tears threatening to spill over. She couldn't cry. Not now.
"Ginny, we all know how close you and your dad were. We miss him too." Harry said, his own eyes bright. "Do you want to talk about it?"
Ginny shook her head, tears streaming down her face. "But I think that I need to," she said shakily. "I miss him."
Harry led her to a place, a small little garden. It was filled with lilies. It had a small wooden bench tucked away in a corner. Harry gently led her too it, and they sat down.
"Ginny, we are all really worried. You know that. You are not eating, sleeping, or anything. Don't you see how thin you've gotten? And pale? Do you think that your dad would want you to live like this?" he said gently.
"No, but I can't help it. I want him back! They took him away from me!" Ginny sobbed, dissolving into tears. Her body racked with cries, and she cried like she had never cried before.
They sat quietly for awhile. Ginny's tears finally slowed into sobs.
"Thanks," she murmured, leaning her head against Harry's shoulder. "I needed that."
Harry smiled gently at Ginny, who blushed crimson. She seemed to have regained her senses.
"No blushing, now," Harry teased. Ginny laughed quietly, a hollow sound nobody had heard for a long time. Harry smiled.
"Gin, your dad died bravely. He vowed to fight until the end, which he did. He saved people, and it's because of him that Voldemort was defeated. You know that. He is a hero, and it was an honor to know him. I loved him too, as did Ron, Fred, George, Percy, Bill, Charlie, your mother, and Hermione did. He died to give people a life of happiness. He didn't die to make people miserable. He would be devastated if he could see you now. So please, for his sake, try to live life. Because life is short. I've known that for a long time, longer than most people. And I think that you know that now, too."
Ginny hugged Harry tightly. "Thanks," she whispered.
Harry returned her hug. "I miss him too." He paused, and bowed his head. Ginny followed suit.
After a second of silence, Harry suggested that they head back up to Hogwarts. They trudged through the autumn leaves hand in hand.
When they got to Gryffindor tower, Ginny turned to face Harry. "I want to thank you," she said. She wanted to continue, but she didn't know what to say. Harry understood, though. He bent his head and kissed her, right on the lips. Ginny gasped, but didn't make any move to stop him. It ended all too soon. They broke apart, and looked at each other. Finally Harry broke the silence.
"Night, Gin. See you tomorrow."
"Er, yeah. See you tomorrow."
They walked up the spiral staircases, both for a rare night without nightmares. Only dreams filled with each other.
Ten years later
Ginny Potter entered the cemetery on a crisp autumn night. She headed towards the grave that she had been to so many times.
She studied the light grey stone. It was nothing fancy. It was plain and simple, just like he had requested.
She read the inscription, the one she had read so many times before.
Arthur Weasley
You have completed your journey of Life.
Now you move on to the adventure of Death.
Forever Remembered.
Ginny smiled through her tears, as she did remember. She remembered the Love and Pain he had brought.

Authors Notes: This is my first fic, and I know it probably sux, so just bear with me. It just popped into my head one day. Actually, it turned out absolutely nothing like I imagined. Ginny was supposed to be mourning for Neville! But it didn't work out cuz I didn't like my description of him, it worked better for Arthur.
I plan to keep writing, and so I'll hopefully have some more fics up soon. Yeah, yeah, no one will read them, but whatever.
Special thanks to Ahmie, my beta reader. Couldn't have done it without her!
Thanks,
Jessica
